「季節を分ける日」として「立春」の前の日である2月3日が「節分」、そして節分の翌日の４日が「立春」と思っていましたが、今年の節分は２月２日、そして今日が「立春」になります。

意外に思われている方もおありかと思いますが、「節分」が２月２日になった日は、2021年にも、124年ぶりにあったそうです。

「立春」と春の始まりとされる日で、寒さの中でも水仙や梅の花が咲き始め、次第に小さい春を感じようになります。

I used to think that ‘Setsubun’ was 3 February, the day before ‘Risshun’, and ‘Risshun’ was the day after Setsubun, the fourth day of the month, but this year Setsubun is 2 February, and today is ‘Risshun’.

Some may be surprised to learn that Setsubun was on 2 February in 2021, the first time in 124 years that Setsubun has been on this date.

Risshun is the day that marks the beginning of spring, when daffodils and plum blossoms begin to bloom despite the cold weather, and you gradually begin to feel a small spring in the air.

１月２０日は、二十四節気の「大寒」です。「大寒」とは１年を２４に分けた二十四節気の最後の暦で、一年で寒さが最も厳しい頃という意味があります。

大寒には「寒仕込み」という、寒気を利用した食べ物（味噌、酒、凍り豆腐、寒天）を仕込むタイミングとして最も良いとされています。「寒の水」と呼ばれ、「大寒の日の水は腐らない」という謂れもあり、寒の内に汲んだ水は大切にします。

そんな寒い時期なので、当店のお料理で身も心も温まりませんか。

20 January is the 24th day of the year, known as ‘Daichan’. Daichan is the last of the 24 solar terms that divide the year into 24 periods, and means the coldest time of the year.

It is considered the best time to prepare food (miso, sake, frozen tofu, agar) using the cold air, called ‘kanshikomi’. It is also known as ‘cold water’, and water drawn in the cold is treasured, as it is said that ‘water drawn on the day of the great cold will not spoil’.

今日は１月７日です。１月７日といえば！！七草！

七草粥は、1月7日の「人日の節句」に食べる日本の伝統食で、春の七草が入ったお粥です。七草は早春に芽吹くことから邪気を払うといわれており、無病息災を願う意味合いがあります。また、お正月で弱った胃腸を休めるためにも食べられてきました。

皆さん七草、全部言えますか！

「セリ・ナズナ・ゴギョウ・ハコベラ・ホトケノザ・スズナ・スズシロ」

ゴギョウはハハコグサ、ハコベラはハコベ、スズナはかぶ、スズシロは大根のこと。

どこでも生えていた身近な薬草でしたが、最近では見かけられなくなってきましたね。
