Title: The Peace Offering Christ as the Peace Between God and God's People
the order of the sequence of the five offerings is very meaningful. as fallen human beings, we are not for God. so how can we have peace, if we are not for God who created us? but we have Christ, who is absolute for God. we can be identified with Christ, and take Him as our burnt offering. secondly, we have Christ as the meal offering, with the perfect humanity, to solve the problem of our corrupted humanity, and meets our need as the food. if we are hungry for food, we will not have peace and satisfaction. so, when we experience and enjoy Christ as the bunrt offering and meal offering, we have joy and satisfaction within, and we have peace.
the principle of the book of Leviticus
the first of incidence that God spoke to His people in the tabernacle. God no longer spoke from heaven or mount Sinai, but He is not dweeling in the midst of His people. even today, when everyone, even Christians are talking about "big world things", God is still speaking tenderly in the tabernacle. we need to take care of God's speaking, and care for God's interest. as God's people, rather than expecting miraculous big things, we should follow the New Testament principle, to listen to the "small things" from God's speaking in the Tent of Meeting today. may we receive mercy and grace from the Lord, to know what really matters to God, and to take care of God's heart desire.
Leviticus 3
1 And if his offering is a sacrifice of peace offerings, if he presents it from the herd, whether male or female, he shall present it without blemish before Jehovah.
2 And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood on and around the altar.
3 And he shall present from the sacrifice of peace offerings an offering by fire to Jehovah. The fat that covers the inward parts and all the fat that is on the inward parts,
we enjoy Christ as our peace, as the issue of experiencing Christ as our absoluteness, the burnt offering, and experienceing Christ as our life supply, the meal offering. daily, we need Christ. every mornign, we need to enjoy Christ as the burnt offering. during the day in our going on, we need to enjoy Christ as our food, our life supply, our meal offering. after our enjoyment, we can bring this to God the Father, which becomes a sweet satisfying fragrance to God. we can enjoy such a peace with God, and such an enjoyment of Christ as peace offering. we will feel such an inward peace and joy.
