飛騨高山 Hida Takayama

飛騨高山温泉・宝生閣
Hida-takayama Hot Spa, Hoshokaku

上高地から、バスで約2時間。飛騨高山にやって来ました！

宿泊は、知り合いの紹介で宝生閣に泊まりました。高山城跡が残る城山公園近くの高台にありますが、ホテルからJR高山駅へは、歩いても15分ほど、旧高山町役場までは、ほんの2～3分です。

I came to Hida-Takayama from Kamikochi by bus. It took about 2 hours.

I stayed at a hotel called Hoshokaku. It stands on the hill near Shiroyama Park where Takayama Castle used to be.  You can walk to Takayama Station within 15 minutes and Former Town Hall of Takayama within a few minutes from the hotel.

To tell the truth, my acquaintance recommended me to stay there.

 

外国人の方も多く泊まりに来ていたのですが、若い従業員の人もスラスラ英語を話していて、驚きました。

To my astonishment, many foreingers stayed at the hotel and young workers spoke English fluently!

これは飛騨の郷土玩具の「さるぼぼ」です。猿の赤ちゃんという意味ですが、女の子達の良縁のお守りとしても人気です。

This is a Hida's folk toy called "Sarubobo" which means a baby monkey.  It is also famous as a lucky charm for girls who want to get married.

 

↓5階には町を見渡せる「足湯」があり、泊り客は誰でも入ることができます。晴れていれば夜空に瞬く星も堪能できますよ

There is an open-air foot bath on the fifth floor.  You can enjoy nice scenery of Takayama City in the daytime or twinkling stars in the evening while taking a bath.

城山公園
Shiroyama Park

ホテルから1分ほどで、城山公園に行けます。ここは、1600年頃に建てられた高山城（1700年頃に廃城になったとのこと）があった場所で、山城の雰囲気を楽しめます。

Shiroyama Park, which has the remains of Takayama Castle (about 1600-1700AD), is just one-minute walk from Hosyokaku.

リンクは、パソコンパワーアップ工房さんのページのコーヒーブレイクからも入れます。こちら、まだ全部は確認していませんが、鉄道・城・動物園・水族館などの情報が、写真や地図とともにわかりやすく紹介されていて、興味のある方にはお勧めです。 

　　

本丸跡に行く途中の落ち葉。なんと、飛騨高山の郷土料理の朴葉味噌に使う朴の木（モクレン科）の葉、つまり朴葉です。

On the way to the top of the hill, I found fallen leaves of Honoki (a kind of magnolia) . They are called Hoba and Hoba miso is local cuisine in Hida Takayama region, Gifu Prefecture.

↓因みに、こちらは、町中で撮った朴の木。まだ、落葉していませんでした。

本丸跡まで、約20分。結構な山道でした。

I had to climb about 20 minutes to reach the top of the hill.  

丘の頂上の本丸跡は、今では木が生い茂っているので、見晴らしは今一つでした。残念！

天守閣が再建されたら、高山市街や美しい山々を見渡せす絶景ポイントになるのは間違えないと思うのですが…

I was sorry to find that the view was obstructed by tall trees even on the top of the hill.

If the castle tower were rebuilt, it would be a best spot where everyone could see Takayama city as well as beautiful mountains.

現在は、高山市政記念館で入館無料です。

Now it is used as Takayama City Archives Museum and the entrance fee is free.

「咲くやこの花」という、動物や鳥のブリキ細工のお店を見つけました。もう、大好きなフクロウの置物があまりにも可愛くて、2体を家にお持ち帰りに～　

2体で3,000円でしたが、良い買い物ができました

The shop, Sakuya Konohana, sells animals and birds made of tin plates. Owls were so cute that I couldn't help buying two of them. They cost ￥3,000 in total. Really reasonable! 

 

兎に角、外国人の方が多く、また、思ったよりずっと賑やかで、本当に驚きました。
The nostalgic area was much busier than I had expected and also visited by so many foreigners. Amazing!

　

あちこちで 日本酒の試飲ができて、外国人にも大好評のようでした。
私は、柚子リキュール「ゆず兵衛」の試飲をしたのですが、すごくおいしかった～。

お店の人は、外人さんに、「スイート（甘い）酒」と説明していましたが、柚子の酸味が利いていたので、「スイート・アンド・サワー」の方がぴったりでは…と伝えました。「外国人があまりにも多いので、日本人のお客さんが来るとホッとする」とおっしゃっていたのが、面白かったです。

結局、「ゆず兵衛」と、秋限定の「ひやおろし」とともに、お持ち帰りしました

You can taste Japanese Sake.  There are some sake breweries.

Citron Liqueur Yuzu-Bei is "Top Honor Award in Liqueur" and so good! It is sweet and sour and not like normal sake.

Of course I bought it as well as famous local sake, Hiyaoroshi.

宮川朝市（宮川の右岸）

Miyagawa Morning Market (on the right side of Miyagawa River)

  

初めの2枚の写真は10:58amに撮ったものですが、3枚目の写真は、前日の夕方16:43pmに撮ったものです。

人通りもまばらで、同じ場所とは思えません。

The first picture and the second one were taken at 10:58am.  The third one was taken at 16:43pm in the privious day.

They don't seem to be the same place! 

 

 

 

 

 

飛騨国分寺　Hida Kokubunji Temple

   

 この大イチョウは、推定樹齢1250年ということです。

This huge ginkgo tree is said to be 1250 years old!

↑JR高山駅は超近代的で驚きでした。昨年、建て直されたとのことです。

インフォメーションセンターも、多言語対応で、観光マップなども充実しています。

JR Takayama Station is much more modernized than I expected. They say it was rebuilt last year. 

Infomation Center provides multilingual services and maps for tourists.
