ウーちゃんは「うさぎの宝物」として、彩り野菜と白玉の茶碗蒸しを作りました。里芋、大根、人参、白菜、水菜、白玉、小豆、卵、出汁を使い、彩り豊かで見た目も美しい一品です。白玉のもちもち感が楽しいです。
クーちゃんは「クマの宝物」として、きのこたっぷりの茶碗蒸しを披露しました。里芋、ごぼう、きのこ（しいたけ、しめじ、えのき）、豆腐、小豆、卵、出汁が入っており、きのこや豆腐の旨味が凝縮された、食べ応えのある一品です。
今日2月8日は、御事始めの日。動物たちの茶碗蒸しは、新しいお事汁としてふるまわれ、皆で楽しい一日を過ごしました。
The Animals' New Okoto-Jiru Treat
Ricky the Squirrel, Woo the Rabbit, and Coo the Bear wanted to make a special treat. They decided to turn a traditional soup called "Okoto-Jiru" into a sweet custard. The soup usually has lots of goodies from the mountains and fields, like taro, radish, carrot, burdock, konnyaku, and beans.
Ricky made his custard and called it "Squirrel's Treasure." It was filled with nuts and roots like taro, carrot, burdock, chestnut, walnut, mushroom, beans, egg, and broth. The nuts added a special crunch and smell. Opening the lid felt like opening a treasure!
Woo made her custard and called it "Rabbit's Treasure." It had colorful veggies and mochi balls. She used taro, radish, carrot, cabbage, mizuna, mochi balls, beans, egg, and broth. It looked beautiful and the mochi balls were so fun to eat.
Coo made his custard and called it "Bear's Treasure." It was packed with mushrooms. He used taro, burdock, mushrooms (shiitake, shimeji, enoki), tofu, beans, egg, and broth. It was tasty and filling.
Today, February 8, is Okoto-Hajime day. The animals' custards were served as the new Okoto-Jiru, and everyone had a fun day.
