This is the last day of April. Amazing, isn't it? This year has really flown by. I hope that everyone has been enjoying 2013 up until now. And that we all can have a wonderful rest-of-the-year.

Recently, Kaneko-san has been including some of his drawings in the packets of galley proofs he sends. He's pretty talented, don't you think?

I really agree with him. I hope that this Kenkyusha Comprehensive Series, including the Kenkyusha Triple Moshi, will benefit those English learners who are targeting a high score that reflects their solid control of the English language.

Back Home!!

It sure feels good to be back home after a one-week business trip.
Wish me luck. The next couple of days will be very busy trying to finish up the necessary 原稿 for our Kenkyusha project.
I'll write again soon.

Until then, best of luck to everyone with their on-going English study. Remember, even 10 minutes per day is better than 5 hours on a Sunday.

開けてビックリ！

何年か前にスペインで買ったワイン
今まで買ったことも忘れていた…そしてやっと飲んでみることに
多分マズイと思いながら開けてみたらなにやらいい匂い～　ラム酒のような何十年ものの紹興酒のようないい匂いがした。そして1口飲んでみたら、驚くほどに柔らかい味これは！めちゃやばい
このワインなら、ケーキでもアイスクリームでもいける

そしてこのやばさにすぐに栓をして締まった　こういったワインは酔いやすいので少しの量でやめた方がいい。


また次回お目にかかりましょうね～～

～Error！Error！Error!～

オムロンの体重計を買ってからからもうすでに1年以上が経つ。ある日のこと、山口から友達が遊びに来た時に何気なく皆で体重を測ったそして体重計に乗ったRobertさんが首を傾げた・・・おもむろに体重計を持って移動し、再び計測

しかし、体重計が測定不能で“Error～”と表示が出てしまうRobertさんは、あ～あ、オムロンさん壊れちゃってるね～と一言。しかし、私や友達が乗っても正常に計測出来たのでした…これは、ひょっとして・・・とRobertさん！全体重をのせ無い様に手すりに捕まりながら再度測定。ちゃんと動いていたしかしもう少しで全体重が！というところでError～～　ブブ～Robertさんの体重が測定可能範囲を超えてしまっていることが判明した

そして、Robertさんに問いただしてみたら、イギリス出張中に美味しいものばかり食べていたことが判明したのでありました・・・　ありえん

そこからダイエットを強制開始～　おかげで今はすっかりオムロンさんの測定範囲内に収まっている
しかし、そんなRobertさんただ今出張中～なんだか、嫌な予感がする

旦那！たのんますよ～お世話になっているOMRONさんに今度から仕事に行けなくなっても知りやせんぜ～

たこ焼き器

家の電球が切れた～ということで、電気屋さんへ
切れた電球は部屋の何か所にも使っているのでこの際まとめて買っておいたほうがいいと思いケースで買うことにした！
電球1個のお値段は大体￥450くらいでもその時ちょうど数量限定でケース販売をしていたので1個￥150に Nice!
しかもなぜだかタコ焼き器を買うとさらにお値引があると・・・ん～必要ないんだけどな～と思いつつも購入してしまった
そして、せっかくのタコ焼き器を買ったので使うことに。その夜、帰ってくるRobertさんに写mailを送った

Robertさんは、え！タコ焼き家で作ったの？面白いと返事が。そして、帰宅後…
ところで、タコ焼きはどこ？？とのご質問。

わたしは、え！タコ焼きは作ってないよ～！と返答。
Robertさんは、変な顔。だって、写mail送ってくれたじゃない？だから、タコ焼きがあるんじゃないの～？と私を不思議そうに見ていた。
うふふ…わたしの作ったものは実はパンケーキ！！しかもタコ焼き器で！！タコ焼き形のパンケーキとクロテッドクリームを写mailしたのです。

私は、Robertさんに写mailを送ったけど、タコ焼き作ったってメッセージは送ってなかったでしょ？と言いRobertさんは確かにそうですね～と答えるしかなかった…

かわいいいじわる?(自分で言うな！)をしてしまったけど、このタコ焼き器は2Wayタイプで鉄板焼きとタコ焼き器がset！
お詫びに次回は、ちゃんとタコ焼きを作ってみようかな～

～Our Anniversary～

ヒロ先生・流水先生・TOEICの勉強をがんばっている皆さんとの素敵な時間を過ごし楽しそうだったRobert
次の日は“私たちの記念日”でした
しかし、研究社の締切に追われているため朝からず～とdeskの前で過ごすことに・・・

なにもお祝い事は出来ない状況だったけど、毎日がんばってくれているのでわたしからプレゼント
お花屋さんの前から電話して、「今の気分でblue・red・purpleの中から好きな色は？？」と質問。
そして、「どこにいるの？何してるの？」と言われたが“内緒 じゃぁね～”と電話を切り帰宅

我が家へ帰り紫陽花を渡したしかし、意外にも返ってきた答えは…え～予想では服を買おうとしてどの色がいいか迷っているんだと思ってた～と。ちが～～～う ・・・残念な旦那様だ～

Hiro's Gupta Reading Party

Last evening I took a break from my Kenkyusha writing to pay my respects to Hiro and Ryusui. Yesterday, they held an event that was very well-attended in which they did a reading of their recently released book "Gupta in Wonderland" (不思議の国のグプタ). There were many people who came to hear them read, and intersperse their own brand of humor. I wish I could have attended the actual reading, but I think my editor, Mr. Kaneko, would have suddenly appeared to kill me, had I attended from the afternoon. However, because I made very good progress on our Kenkyusha project this weekend, I think he will permit my having gone to the party held in Hiro's and Ryusui's honor after the reading.

As you can see, there some interesting people in attendance. For example, the TOEIC Monitor Men in Black (MMIB).

Also, some interesting activities involving Hiro and Ryusui.

Not to mention some delicious food.

But the evening belonged to Ryusui and Hiro. Congratulations to both of you for a job well done! Thank you for letting us share your special evening together with you and many of your fans!!

Always present . . .

For those of you who don't know him, let me introduce my editor: Kaneko-san. His spirit is always next to me, encouraging me to Write! Write! Write! Just the other day, an excellent caricature of Kaneko-san arrived at our house. He now has an honored place among other important "members" of the Hilke Family. Every time I see him on the bookshelf next to the Western window of our home, I am reminded of how much hard work he and all of the other outstanding members of our team have put into the various books in our series. Welcome to our home, Kaneko-san! I promise to keep writing, writing, writing until this current set of our TOEIC book projects has made it onto the shelves of bookstores around the country. Kaneko-san and I, along with all of the other members of our team, truly hope that our readers can benefit from the forthcoming books in our series.
