Persian food

This is a once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity for me!
Yoshi was quite eager to go to some restaurant these days. We went the restaurant this evening at last.

I will tell you how rare he gets in a mood of a fancy restaurant. He is basically thrifty, thinking eating out is simply waste of money. He prefers spending money on something remains in his hand, especially electric appliances.

Hadi, his private trainer at the gym, told him about the persian restaurant named "Zaffron." It is located near Yonge St. × Steels St. 2 or 3 stores away from "Kenzo-Ramen," the korean-owned Japanese Ramen noodle restaurant.

What Hadi recommended were Sultana Kabob and Koobideh Kabob, both of which are BBQ. We picked the two without checking other menu.
I heard that Hadi is a meat person. ... No wonder... Sultana Kabob is lamp chops, sliced in strips as long as a big oval dish. Koobideh Kabob is like beef hamburger shaped into a strip too. Both come with long rice, baked tomatoes and butter.
They were all tasty, I would say. Apparently they use fine meat and cook properly. The atmosphere was not too fancy, not too cheap. I like it a lot! And the prices are reasonable for the quality of the dishes.
I would have loved the dishes if I were 10 years younger. (giggle)
What a shame, it was too meaty and heavy for me!! Yoshi and I were overstuffed on the way back home..

But I will absolutely recommend the restaurant to my friends!!!!
