Janice held a get-together this evening. (see "about my friends")
She and her husband Sean have moved in to Mississauga, the city next to Toronto. They rent a luxurious condominium out there to have her commute easier.
Jay and I have visited her the other day but we brought our husbands this time.
Korean couple, Jay and Joon, Chinese couple, Janice and Sean and us, Japanese couple. Six people got together.
They are the first friends Yoshi and I ever got in Toronto.
Janice took us all to a Chinese restaurant near by. It is located in a small Chinatown in Mississauga. She made a reservation for us in advance so we got a table immediately. The restaurant seemed really popular because all tables were fully occupied by the time we ordered some food. In the middle of dinner, we happened to look back over our shoulders. Whoa! It surprised us that the narrow entrance was packed with people waiting for their seats.
What we ate were a course menu for four.
Our dinner started with vegetable soup. Fried beef and steamed chicken followed it and then, two deep-fried lobsters came up. Gorgeous!! When we were half full, here came steamed sole and a tofu hot pot. We finished with tapioca in sweet milk, the lukewarm Chinese dessert.
Mmmmm, yum-yum-yum !
We got back to Janice's place and had a coffee. We enjoyed a chat for a few hours.
I just can't believe we are going to have to say good-bye to each other pretty soon. Jay and Joon are leaving Toronto in the end of April and then us leaving in June.
I hope the farewell day will never come...
ミシサガに引っ越したジャニスとショーン（チャイニーズカップルv）にお招きを受けました。
集まったのは、ジェイとジューン（コリアンカップルv）と私たちの６人。ハズバンズ３人が一緒に大学院で勉強し始めて以来の、長い付き合いの６人なのです。
ジャニスオススメの中華料理レストランで夕食をしたのち、ジャニスの家でみんなで歓談（＾＾）。とりとめもなくおしゃべりを楽しみました。
…こんな風に一緒の時間を過ごすのも、残りわずかとなってきました。
ハズバンズの卒業が間近に迫り、私たちはそれぞれに国に帰らなければならないのです。（ジャニスたちはカナダ移民組なので、居残り。。）
寂しいかも。
でも韓国はわりと近いし、いつかジェイたちの家に遊びに行かせてもらおう～。
そして、なんだかトロントにコンドミニアムを買ってしまった私たちなので、また一度はトロントに帰ってくるだろうから（コンド管理云々で。）、ジャニスたちにも会えるね。

We are going back to Japan in June. You are absolutely right!
Yoshi and I bought a condo in Toronto as an investment. We are going to rent it out so that we make money on a monthly basis.
( Investments may sound only for rich people but this is common in North America. They invest just like Japanese people deposit in a bank.)
The condo we purchased hasn't built yet. When it is completed, we are going to have to come back here and do some paper. That was what I meant...
