Stability and instability of dictatorship
Currently, China and Russia appear to have dictatorial political systems. In the feudal era, ruling families and kings were hereditary, and the political system was often dictatorial, regardless of whether it was in the East or the West.
In era like these, replacements of ruler often trigger very big incidents.
There is a horrifying anecdote that when a monarch dies, a dispute arose over the succession, and the funeral was not held for several months, and maggots grew from the corpse of the monarch and crawled out of the room where the corpse was put. When you read history books, stories of assassinations come up as a matter of course, probably because the principle of inheritance is that the winner takes all.
Dictatorships are characterized by stable organizations during normal times, but on the contrary, in the event of replacement, the organization becomes extremely unstable. The process of selecting the head of an organization or the head of state is different between dictatorships and democracies, but in today's sophisticated and diverse society, democracies are likely to be more effective than dictatorships.
