LG V20 official with secondary display improvements and Nougat in tow

2017-06-14 09:42:51 | Samsung Galaxy S8

Last year was the first year that LG took the wraps off of its new (and quite large) flagship, the LG V10. While LG is already well-known for its other premium flagship line, the LG G series, the V series brings something unique to the table with a small, secondary display placed just above the main display. This secondary display has an always on feature which can display useful information, notifications, and serve as a quick access app drawer.

LG V20

This year LG is back with its next generation LG V device, the LG V20. Design-wise, there isn’t a monster list of differences between it and its predecessor; it still features the same 5.7-inch main screen and a small secondary display for important information and the like. The secondary display, however, has received a couple of upgrades, including a upgraded 24-character limit (over the V10’s 14) and an added scrolling marquee effect. The V20 is made out of a mix of aluminum and polycarbonate. Internally, the V20 has received several notable improvements.

Specs for the V20 include a 5.7-inch IPS Quantum main display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (no word on if it’s expandable via microSD card slot or not, will update in the future), 16-megapixel camera on the rear with a 5-megapixel shooter on the front. Both cameras feature a wide-angle lens. The V20 receives an upgrade from last year’s V10 in the battery department, running on a 3,200 mAh battery (compared to last year’s 3,000 mAh). The V20 is also going to be the first Smartphone parts to come shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, overlayed with LG’s UX 5.0+ skin.

Other notable features include the switch from micro USB over to a USB Type-C charger. The V20 has also been upgraded to Quick Charge 3.0 over from Quick Charge 2.0. LG kept the removable battery aspect in the V20, leaving LG on board as one of the few remaining defenders of this feature. In the U.S., the V20 will come in two colors: Titan (black) and Silver. International versions of the V20 include enhanced B&O Play audio, but U.S. versions will allegedly not (although the U.S. version will feature a 32-bit Quad DAC, and for a limited time LG will supply a pair of B&O Play earphones with the purchase of a V20).

In the end, we’ve got some nicely upgraded specs, a larger battery, and a large, powerful flagship that runs on the very latest version of Android. Between that and its unique secondary display, the LG V20 is certainly a ipad replacement screen worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new daily driver.

LG has not revealed what the cost of the V20 will be yet, stating that pricing information will be available in a few weeks. As for a release date, we were given a vague answer of “sometime in the third quarter”.

Apple boasts that iPad Pro is, um, powerful

2017-06-12 10:15:34 | Samsung Galaxy S8

Apple's in its 40s now.

When you get there, you want everyone to believe you're still young and strong, the apogee of vibrant power. Even if you might shortly need a hip replacement.

Lately, Cupertino has been running adsbased on, gasp, tweets -- something Apple itself never really bothered with.

The latest ad, though, has a loud explosion in it. For many who have followed Apple over the years, this might seem so very un-Apple, cool as it's always been.

Here, though, Apple is responding to a young man who's desperate for a more powerful computer. To which the voice-over replies he should get an iPad Pro iPhone parts .

Apple has been desperate to persuade for some time now that the iPad Pro is a computer. Microsoft has been desperate to laugh at the idea.

In this ad, Apple uses a wonderfully hard-selly, macho voice to intone about the A10x fusion chip. This turns the iPad Pro into the Arnold Schwarzenegger of tablets. Or, um, computers.

The ad is so spectacularly teenage and so pleasantly un-Apple iPhone replacement parts .

In another ad released on Friday, Apple wants you to believe its stylus, aka Pencil, has no lag. There's a joke in this ad and a man screaming loudly. Yes, more loud noise.

Apple didn't stop there with the younger-pandering notions.

In an ad from earlier this week, a young girl tweet-complains: "I hate everything."

Apple's helpful dad-voice replies: "Well, you're really going to hate the new iPad Pro because you can do pretty much everything with it."

It's really quite charming watching Apple try to be nice and the young, slightly Gothic girl merely offering hate in return.

The cleverness in this campaign is that Apple is trying to be short, youthful (without being fake) and relatively witty.

The young don't have the patience for you, old Tim. They want to know what you've got and they want to know now. In as few characters as possible.

Oh, make some powerful noise too. The young are very easily distracted.

Do we need to upgrade mobile phone system?

2017-06-10 10:47:02 | Samsung Galaxy S8

Apple demoed their iOS11 at WWDC in 2017 June 5, it has great changes compared with previous version and add many new functions. There are rumors that it will come with iPhone 8. Should we upgrade iOS11 as soon as it's officially pushed?

As we all know, to give users a better experience, smart-phone manufacturers update their systems from time to time. Generally, Apple or Android mobile phone manufacturers push users a new system to get a better experience in fluency, stability and so on. But there are two opinions about whether update the system and when to do it. Some users will update system the first time while others hate to do it. Why we have different views in one thing? Here we talk about the advantages and disadvantages of system update.

When should we upgrade phone system?

Since system upgrades has both advantages and disadvantages, should we upgrade the system, and when should we upgrade? Here are the suggestions.

Upgrade major version of system. In general, mobile phone manufacturers will push a major version of system update every year. If you want to experience the new functions, it is a good time to update after it pushed out.

Before updating you should consider the hardware of your device. New system often requires higher hardware, if an iPhone 5 running with IOS10, it may crash so you should be careful before updating.

You can upgrade when there’s a bug. If your phone encountered a system issue in using, you can try to update to the latest version to solve it.
