The day of the end of the war

2008-08-15 21:32:28 | What is Today.

It is the day of the end of the war.

We reflect on the past blame and
anew pray about the peaceful world today.

We have to appeal to all over the world that
the peace is important.

War is violence.
The retaliation is violence.
The violence gives rise to hatred.
The chain gives rise to hatred again.
We must cut off the chain of hatred.
If you have a courage, you can do it.

Japan has a peace constitution.
We renounce wars.

We love peace!

Let' renounce wars!

Kitajima Kosuke!

You're Great! Kitajima Kosuke!

He won the gold medal in the men's 200meter
breaststroke final at the Beijing Olympics.

His record was not the world record,
but it was new olympic record!

His swiming was so beautiful and dinamic.
I felt that when I watched on TV.

I think he is the best breaststroke swimmer
in this Olympic games.

Beautiful Ippon!

2008-08-12 21:11:55 | What is Today.
Tanimoto Ayumi ,Judo under 63kg class, won final by Ippon.
She won two successive championships on the Olympic games.

Her Ippon (Uchimata) was so beautiful.
It was "Softness overcomes strength"or
"A sweet disposition is more persuasive than force".

I think winning by Ippon is the charm of Judo.

Congratulations! Gold-medalist Tanimoto Ayumi!

Takasaki Festival!

The Takasaki Festival was held in Takasaki city,Gunma pref.

I think Japanese style festival is so artistic.
Because "Mikoshi" and "Dashi" are portable Japanese architecture.

"Mikoshi" is a portable shrine.
Number of people parade and carry the "Mikoshi" on their shoulders.

"Dashi" is a float and a pageant.
That looks like a shrine or stage.
A couple of person play a flute, drums or a bell on the "Dashi".
That music is elegant.

A special feature of Takasaki's "Dashi" is  a Japanese doll on the top of "Dashi".
