Dear Sir,

I am Mr. Yasumasa Arai (male, born in 1938, nationality; Japan) who is great pleased and have a hope to applying the attending your World U3A Forum.

I am a member of U3J(;U3A of Japan) and a colleague and close friend of Madame Akiko Tsukatani, the head of U3J.

As my career of U3A is profoundly symbolized that I am a winner of Best Expression of Abstract Awards-Excellence Awards, The First International U3As Online Art Awards 2020.

Madame Tsukatani are,this time,  urgently recommending me to apply myself to your World U3A Forum.

The following is described as my thought of application ;

1. My primary concern is to have an opportunity to build up friendship with other members from the world, would be joining.
2. My particular interest is here, the forum would be covering fields on Arts of Humanity for our generation, as seeing, learning practicing , cultivating own ability of  enjoyment and creativity through sharing  open communication for each other who concerned with.
3. Arts of Humanity, here, means what we have already had over U3A activities.
4. As my potential contribution for the Forum is briefing introducing my recent works; Ongaku-Kaiga( Ongaku-Kamishibai) which will be taken from our pieces of the 2020 award( maximum within 30minutes)

("our" means substantially my side of working consists of my brother Sumika Tachobana and me,Yasumasa Arai. Each of us are separately awarded at the 2020 competition.)

I have remarks for asking for your consideration;

#1 I have a voice trouble from my diseses of throat, so basically communicate with writing way at forum.

#2 I have my experience of tele-meeting,but yet installed of Zoom. I hope to have your guidance of set up to the forum.

1.What is the age range of your U3A members

  →U3J age range is covering  from 50s to 80s.

 

2.What are the proportions of active speakers, participants, and just listeners

→Yasumasa Arai, as mention above, Registered Chemical Engineer of the first class, with more than 30 years careers at Showa Denko K.K. and professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology, especially mathematical modeling and simulation for chemical technology.

Privately, Art working of painting and drawing , art movie product as Onagaku Kaiga, Open releasing at Google at the keys as Yasumasa Arai, Ongaku kaiga, Ongaku kamishibai, Asanikki.

 

 

3.What subjects seem most attractive and relevant

  →As mentioned above, covering fields on Arts of Humanity for our generation, as seeing,  learning  practicing , cultivating ability of  enjoyment and creativity through sharing  open communication for each other who concerned with.

5. Are there particular backgrounds which are attracted to U3A

→As mentioned above, Ongaku kaiga, Ongaku kamishibai.

 

6. What problems,if any, do members have with being part of your U3A

  →First, I sincerely respect to  Madame Akiko Tsukatani,  as head of U3J, who has been, more than 20 years contributing the promotion  and achieved of system and activity.  She had contributed to build up for present government institution now implemented widely as elder age care promotion system.  Each local government has set every year each program for promotion to elder health. For instance, I am a member of Kaigo Yoboh Supporter,

a registered  volunteer supporter of this activity.

 

9. Are there things which discourage potential members

→Unfortunately,  U3A is quite yet acquainted over there.  I think this connection will be very fruitful next target  for U3J. I am expecting that the forum will lead to the further supports for  A3j,especially Madame Tsukatni.
