財務会計基準機構は、2021年10月19日付で定款変更を行ったことを発表しました。
「現在、IFRS 財団は、国際的なサステナビリティ報告基準を開発することを目的とした審議会（仮称：国際サステナビリティ基準審議会）を設置するための準備作業を進めています。この審議会が設置された場合、IFRS 財団のカウンターパートとして、当財団にサステナビリティ報告基準にも取り組むことが期待されるものと考えられ、当財団では 2021 年 10 月 19 日付で別紙のとおり、定款の第 3 条（目的）及び第 4 条（事業）にサステナビリティ報告基準に関する事項を加えました。」

10月29日開催予定の金融審議会「ディスクロージャーワーキング・グループ」（第３回） の会議資料の中でも、この定款変更についてふれていました。金融庁で詳細なルールを作るのは面倒なので、FASFに丸投げするのでしょう。しかし、FASFにもそういう人材がいるのかどうか．．．。これから人を集めるのでしょう。委員だけでなく、手足になって働く人も必要です。（どこかの大手監査法人グループに下請けに出すのが効率的では）
FASFがサステナビリティで世界に貢献するより先に、前金融担当相（企業開示も所管）の温暖化で米がおいしくなった発言が世界に発信されてしまったようです。
