オオイヌノフグリ

駅前の駐輪所脇の狭い空きスペースに群生していたオオイヌノフグリです。雑草扱されることも多いけど、花はとても小さくて8mm以下ほどなのに、かわいいです。

子供の頃、辞書で花の名前を調べて、がっかりしたことを思い出します。なぜなら、その意味は、犬の睾丸だったから…



Persian speedwell (Veronica persica)

I found them in a tiny space by a bike parking lot in front of a station.

They are often considered as just weeds, but are so cute even though the
flowers are so small, less than 8mm wide.

When I was a child, I looked up the name of the flowers in a dictionary.

I remember it made me disappointed because it means testicles of a dog
in Japanese.
