『日本書紀』用明天皇 5
蘇我馬子宿禰、外聞斯計、詣皇子所、卽逢門底。謂皇子家門也。將之大連所、時諫曰「王者、不近刑人。不可自往。」皇子不聽而行。馬子宿禰卽便隨去、到於磐余行至於池邊而切諫之。皇子乃從諫止、仍於此處踞坐胡床、待大連焉。大連、良久而至、率衆報命曰、斬逆等訖。或本云、穴穗部皇子、自行射殺。於是、馬子宿禰惻然頽歎曰、天下之亂不久矣。大連聞而答曰、汝小臣之所不識也。此三輪君逆者、譯語田天皇之所寵愛、悉委內外之事焉。由是炊屋姬皇后與馬子宿禰、倶發恨於穴穗部皇子。是年也、太歲丙午。
≪英訳≫
Soga no Umako no Sukune (蘇我馬子宿禰), upon hearing of this matter from afar, went to see the prince. He encountered him at the gate of the prince’s residence (皇子家門). As the prince was about to visit the Grand Minister (大連), Umako earnestly advised him, saying, “It is said that a ruler should not approach those condemned to death. You must not go yourself.” However, the prince did not heed this advice and set out.
Having no other choice, Umako followed him. When they arrived at Iware (磐余) and approached the pond, Umako repeatedly urged the prince to reconsider. Finally, the prince heeded his advice, stopped, and sat on a folding stool (胡床) at that spot, waiting for the Grand Minister.
After some time, the Grand Minister arrived with his forces and reported back: “The rebels, including Sakau (逆), have been executed.”
In another account, it is said that Prince Anahobe (穴穂部皇子) went in person and shot Sakau dead.
Hearing this, Umako was deeply grieved and lamented, “The land will soon fall into chaos.”
The Grand Minister replied, “You, as a lesser subject, cannot understand.”
The rebel, Miwa no Kimi Sakau (三輪君逆), was a favorite of Emperor Bidatsu (敏達天皇) and had been entrusted with both internal and external affairs. For this reason, Empress Kashikiya-hime Kōgō(炊屋姫皇后) and Umako both came to harbor resentment against Prince Anahobe (穴穂部皇子).
This event took place in the year of the Hinoe uma(丙午).
≪この英文の和訳≫
蘇我馬子宿禰（そがのうまこのすくね）は、この件を遠くで聞き及び、皇子のもとに参上した。皇子の門前（皇子家門）でお会いしたが、皇子は大連（おおむらじ）のもとへ向かおうとしていた。馬子宿禰はこれを諫めて申し上げた。「王者は、刑を受けた者に近づくべきではないと申します。どうか自らお出かけになりませんように」。しかし皇子はその諫言を聞き入れず、出発された。
やむを得ず、馬子宿禰もこれに同行した。一行が磐余（いわれ）の地に至り、池の近くに来たとき、馬子宿禰は重ねて諫言を行った。皇子はこの諫めを受け入れ、そこにとどまり、胡床（こしかけ）に深く腰を下ろして大連の報告を待つこととした。
しばらくして大連が兵を率いて戻り、こう復命した。「逆（さかう）らを斬り、討伐を終えました」。
一説によれば、穴穂部皇子（あなほべのみこ）自らが赴き、逆（さかう）を射殺したとも伝えられている。
これを聞いた馬子宿禰は深く嘆き、「この国は、いずれ程なく乱れるであろう」と語った。これに対し、大連は答えて言った。「お前のような小臣には理解できぬことだ」。
三輪君逆（みわのきみさかう）は、敏達天皇（びだつてんのう）陛下が深く寵愛され、内政外政のすべてを託された人物であった。このため、炊屋姫皇后（かしきやひめこうごう）と馬子宿禰は共に、穴穂部皇子を恨むようになった。
この出来事が起きた年は、太歳丙午（たいさいひのえうま）である。
