Today, I'd like to write about my point of view of "basic English skills."
At our English school, we are teaching English and providing self-study support to improve our students' basic English skills.
Actually, there are a lot of methods or ways to teach English and the most effective way to teach English depends on students' purposes or goals.
We understand each students' purposes/goals to learn English is different, so our teaching philosophy is that our students improve Basic English skills.
At English Plus, Basic English Skills mean "You can say what you want to say accurately and communicate well with others. In other words, you have enough vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation in order to say what you would like to say, and also you can get the gist of what others' are saying and respond correctly."
For example...
"If you are asked a question about past, you can respond with correct past verbs."
"You can make questions to ask for directions."
"You can state your opinions."
At English Plus, we have Skill-Up lessons available right now.
In this "Skill-Up" lessons, students learn some basic English vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation for English communication and practice to improve English skills to make sentences by themselves.
