最近の話題でTOEICテストのリーディング対策 ～ MLB / Toronto Blue Jaysに関する話題

Good morning and thank you for your time to visit English Plus blog!
Today, let's practice reading for the next TOEIC test, which is scheduled on June 23rd.
I heard from some of our students, who took the previous TOEIC test last Sunday, say that they couldn't finish answering all of the questions.
To finish the TOEIC test, we need to read quickly and improve reading skills!
So, today let's practice skimming & scanning skills, which are necessary for the TOEIC Part 7.
Basically, "skimming" means "to read quickly to get the point" and "scanning" means "to pick up some necessary information."
Now, let's take a couple of minutes to get used to these two skills with a recent topic of "Munenori Kawasaki is the happiest Toronto Blue Jays player ever after walkoff hit" from Yahoo Canada.

本日は“最近の話題でTOEICテストのリーディング対策 ～ MLB / Toronto Blue Jaysに関する話題”です。

先日、先週末にTOEICテストを受験した生徒の方々にテストの感想をお聞きしたところ、全部解答できなかった・・・という感想が聞こえました。

TOEICテストを全て解答するには、読むスピードを上げる必要があります。

今日は特に、TOEICのPart7に必要な“リーディング力の強化”をしていきたいと思います。

リーディング力の強化と言っても方法は様々ありますが、今日はTOEICのリーディングに効果的な“Skimming"と“Scanning”のトレーニングをしていきます。

“Skimming”は“速読してポイントをつかむこと”で、“Scanning”は“必要な情報を素早く読み取ること”です。

それでは野球（メジャーリーグ）からの最近の話題、"Munenori Kawasaki is the happiest Toronto Blue Jays player ever after walkoff hit" を使ってトレーニングをしていきたいと思います。

レッスンから学ぶ ～ テンションが高い・低いの英語表現

Today, let's learn some English phrases!
During English lessons here at English Plus, there are some questions about English phrases that our students frequently ask.
One of the phrases is about "tension."
In Japanese, "tension" is generally used differently.
So, today let's learn how to say "tension" correctly in English.
For example, when it's high, you can say...
・I'm hyper!
・I'm very excited!
・I'm so excited!
・I'm excited!
and when it's low, you can say...
・I'm depressed.
・I feel down.
In the future, you may need these phrases, so let's learn from now!

日本語でよく使う“テンション”と英語（tension）の意味は全然違います。

そこで今日は日本語で使う“テンションが高い・低い”の英語表現を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば、テンションが高い時…

テンションが低い時には…

基礎英語の復習エクササイズ ～ 英語の形容詞の復習（その２）

Good morning and I appreciate you visit to English Plus blog!
Today, let's review some basic English vocabulary!
At our English school, we have "Skill-Up" course and in this course students learn some fundamental grammar and vocabulary for English communication.
In one of the beginner level English lessons, we study "adjectives" and today let's review some basic adjectives!
Now, let's think about the antonyms of each adjective.
1. soft ⇔
2. easy ⇔
3. neat ⇔
4. clean ⇔
5. noisy/loud ⇔
6. wet ⇔
7. open ⇔
8. expensive ⇔
9. sharp ⇔
10. smooth ⇔
Was it easy for you?

English Plusでは、基礎から英語を学べるSkill-Up（基礎英語）レッスンを開講中です。

このSkill-Upのレッスンでは、英語コミュニケーションに必要な基本的な英語の文法・語彙を中心に学んでいきます。

今日、５月２６日は第１８０回ＴＯＥＩＣ公開テストの日です。（受験される方、がんばりましょう！）

TOEICテストは７つのパート（リスニング４つ＋リーディング３つ）で構成される２時間のテストですが、リスニングパートの１つに写真描写問題があります。

写真描写問題の中では、日常やビジネスの写真が出題されますが、よく見かける写真の中に“車”に関連する問題があります。

車と言っても色々とありますが、今日は“車の種類に関する英語”を学んでいきたいと思います。

During a lesson at English Plus the other day, there was a topic about food.
What we talked about was mainly the food we ate recently.
There is a lot of food and also a lot of vocabulary to describe taste, so today let's learn some.
