Winston Churchill was a British politician known for his leadership of the United Kingdom.
When I was in Canada, I was surprised that his statue was in several cities, such as Toronto, Quebec, and Edmonton.
Here is what he said:

川崎市内の商店街/空き店舗下見の旅

Good morning, and thank you for your visit :)
Yesterday, I went to Kawasaki to see some shops available for rent.
I mainly took Kawasaki municipal bus to look around from Mizonokuchi to Kosugi area.
Although I went around by bus and it took long time (actually for a day), it was great to see Kawsaki because I could visit a lot of shopping streets, see some vacant shops, and check the atmosphere.
Some local real estate agencies I visited yesterday gave me some good information on vacant shops in Kawasaki.
I visited and checked one of the shopt available for rent, and found out that it was big enough for the English school I've intended.
From now on, I'm going to see if it's the one for my English school and would like to decide!

昨日は川崎市の商店街＆空き店舗を見てきました。

特に、川崎市営バスを使い、溝の口～小杉のエリアを見て回ってきました。

バスで回ったことで、時間がかなりかかってしまいましたが、たくさんの商店街やお店・を見たり、雰囲気を知ることができました。

その中でも、昨日訪ねた不動産屋さんはとても親切に対応していただき、特に武蔵新城の不動産屋さんには、とても良い商店街の空き店舗情報をいただきました。
ご親切にありがとうございました。

今後も一歩一歩、英語学校起業に向け前進していきたいと思います。

４月からの小学校英語授業導入に際して英語講師おすすめの英語準備法

How are you doing?
Today, I'd like to write about “my personal recommendation as an English teacher about how to prepare for English lessons at elementary school starting this April.”
Currently, at a cafe, I'm teaching English to students ranging from elementary school students to adults.
As I teach English to both adults and school kids, I've realized the different interesting points between them.
For example, when I teach English to adults, it's always fun because we can share a lot of personal experiences through variety of topics.
When I teach elementary school students, it's also interesting because they absorb what I teach very quickly and use it to enjoy communication!
Speaking of teaching elementary school students, from this April at public elementary schools in Japan, English class is going to start.
From an English teacher's experience and point of view, elementary school students should learn basic English vocabulary!!
The best way I can recommend for elementary school students to learn English vocabulary is with this book “Picture Dictionary.”
It's interesting even for adults to browse English picture dictionary, so elementary school children can enjoy learning English vocabulary with it!
If parents have time, they should learn English vocabulary together because it helps communicate with each other while learning English!

本日は“４月からの小学校英語導入に際して英語講師おすすめの英語準備法”です。

現在カフェで個人的に英語のレッスンをしており、とてもありがたいことに、小学生～大人の方々を教える機会に恵まれています。

子供（小学生）と大人を教えていて思うことは“両方ともそれぞれに教えていて面白い点がある”ということです。

１点ずつ面白い点を挙げますと、大人の方に教えている時は経験が豊富な分、いろいろなトピックを通してコミュニケーションが楽しめる、という点。

子供を教えている時は、教えたことをスポンジのようにすぐ吸収するので学んだものがすぐ使え、コミュニケーションが楽しめる、という点です。

ご存知かと思いますが、今年の４月から公立の小学校５・６年生を対象に英語授業が一斉に始まります。

“今まで小学生を教えてきた経験”ならびに“英語講師としての視点”から言えるのは、小学校のうちに“できる限り英語の基礎となる英単語を学んでおく”ということです。

小学生が英単語を覚えるおすすめの方法は“Picture Dictionary”（絵付きの辞書）を使用することです。

Picture Dictionaryを大人が見ているだけでも面白いと思いますので、お父さん・お母さんと一緒に英単語を覚えていくのもとても効果的だと思います！

将来、英語をもっと楽しめるように今から準備していきましょう！！

First, please imagine the following situation.
One afternoon, you are walking on the street.
Suddenly, a Canadian tourist visiting Japan asks you "Excuse me, do you have the time?"
So, you check your watch and tell him/her the time.
What will you say if the time is as follows?
3:00 / 3:05 / 3:10 / 3:15 / 3:30 / 3:40 / 3:45 / 3:55
You can tell him/her the time in both ways.
・3:00 (three sharp / three o'clock)
・3:05 (five past three / three o five)
・3:10 (ten past three / three ten)
・3:15 (a quarter past three / three fifteen)
・3:30 (half past three / three thirty)
・3:40 (twenty to four / three forty)
・3:45 (a quarter to four / three forty five)
・3:55 (five to four / three fifty five)
Telling Time is used not only in our real life but also in the TOEIC test!!
So, I recommend practicing telling the time!!

差別のない英語を使うことのすすめ

Today, I'm going to pick up a topic about some gender neutral words and the other relevant terms.
In my English lesson, I sometimes hear my students say not gender nertral terms, such as policeman, businessman, and so on.
So, in my lesson, I teach them some gender nertral words and the other relavant words.
For example, if we talk about occupations, we should say...
・chairman→chairperson
・businessman→businessperson
・salesman→salesperson
・stewardess→flight attendant
・waitress/waiter→server
・housewife→homemaker
Also, we should say these words correctly too...
・old→elderly
・Blacks→African-Americans/Canadians
・Whites→Caucasians
・Indians→Native Americans/Canadians
・Orientals→Asians
Let's use English correctly and enjoy communication!

英語のメールで使える英語の顔文字

Good morning, and I really appreciate your visit!
Today, let's check out some "emoticons."
An emoticon is a word of combination of "emotion" and "icon."
As you know, an emoticon is a facial expression pictorially represented by punctuation and letters to express a writer’s mood.
It’s very popular in text message or e-mail anywhere even though we see different styles.
When I received e-mail with unknown characters (emoticon) on it for the first time, I didn’t know how I was supposed to read them or what they meant at all.
So, I checked and was surprised to find out that there are a number of characters.
For example:
:-) "smile"
;-) "wink"
:-D "funny"
:-O "surprised"
:-( "frowning face"
:-< "sad"
>:-< “mad”
There are so many emoticons that I can’t put all here.
The next time you send a message, how about using one on it?
It will help your communication!

顔文字は英語で”emoticon”と言います。

顔文字のスタイルは違いますが、日本語のメールでも、英語のメールでもよく使われています。

自分が、始めて英語の顔文字のメールを受信した時は“どうやって見ればいいのか”“何を意味するのか”がわかりませんでした。

そこで少し調べてみたところ、驚いたことにたくさんの顔文字が使われていることを知りました。

百合ヶ丘でのおいしいランチと英語学校創業への準備 - ビジネスコンサルティング受講

Good morning and I appreciate your visit!
Yesterday, after I finished teaching in Tokyo, I went to Yurigaoka, Kawasaki to have lunch.
The reason why I visited Yurigaoka is that there is a nice restaurant "Tamari" whose owner I met at a business seminar in Kawasaki last year
The food I had was "genshi-jin no niku, which means the meat which primitive people ate" was tasty and the coffee, the baked apple, and the mashed sweet potato I had after lunch for dessert were excellent too!!
The dishes and cups used at the restaurant are all made by the owner, so everything is unique.
When you have a chance to visit Yurigaoka, please try once!

After having lunch, I went to Kawasaki in order to take a business consultation with Mr. Koji Takeuchi, who is a small and medium enterprise management consultant.
There were several important tips for my English school to launch I learned from the consultation.
Some of the tips were hiring good staff members, making a more attractive advertisement, financial advice and so on.
Thanks to his help, I was able to get a better idea about the advertisement.

The situation in Japan is still unpredictable, but I will do what I can do and hopefully, what I’m doing will contribute to Japan and the world.

本日は“百合ヶ丘でのおいしいランチと英語学校創業への準備 - ビジネスコンサルティング受講”です。

昨日、英語レッスン終了後、川崎・百合ヶ丘にある“たまり”さんというアトリエカフェへランチに行ってきました。

“たまり”さんでは“原始人の肉”をいただきました。

お料理は小鉢に至るまですべて創意工夫されており、とてもおいしくいただくことができました。

また、コーヒー・デザート（手づくりの焼きりんご・スイートポテト）もとてもおいしかったです。

お皿にいたるまでオーナーの手作りで、一度は行く価値ありですので、百合ヶ丘の近くに来た際には是非！

などに関してアドバイスをいただきました。

In this case, we can use these expressions to show our appreciation.

地震が発生して以降、Facebookやe-mailを通して友達から“大丈夫？”という旨のメールをいただきました。

多くのメールが“大丈夫なら返信ください”というメールでしたので、出来るだけ早く友達に“大丈夫。心配してくれてありがとう”というメールを返信する必要がありました。
