Today, I'd like to give you a tip to improve English skills.
Some of our students at English Plus take the TOEIC test regularly in order to check their English skills, which is great!
After they take the TOEIC exam, I often hear some of them say "I couldn't finish the test on time."
In order to finish the test on time, we need to improve reading speed.
Actually, if we do the training to improve reading speed, it also helps us improve some other basic English skills.
So, today I would like to recommend a training method to improve reading speed, which is called "Rapid reading."
What you need for this training is an English reading material. (The easier, the better.)
1. Read it in English, and time yourself. Write it down.
2. Count the number of English words.
3. Try to read 180 words / 1 minute 40 seconds.
If you continue doing this training every day, your reading skill and TOEIC score may improve little by little!
If you can't find an appropriate book for yourself, I recommend the book series below.
・Penguin Readers (Longman)
・Oxford Bookworms (Oxford)
・Ladder series (IBC Publishing)
・English Readers (Cambridge)
