English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.
Today, I'd like to write about one of our seven unique attempts to help students improve their English skills at our English school.
Our school, English Plus, is a small English school, but we're serious about helping our students improve their English skills, and we are trying to provide some supports and several approaches.
There are actually seven approaches we are trying to provide, and today let's check another one of them.
The third one today is about our original lesson feedback after each lesson.
In our adult's group lesson, each lesson is 90 minutes and max 4 students in a class. (45 minutes for private, and 60 minutes for kids group lesson)
Especially in our 90-min lessons, our students have a lot of time to speak English.
It's because practicing speaking English a lot is necessary to improve English ability.
Therefore, English Plus' instructors try to keep longer time for our students to speak English during lessons.
Since our students have longer time to practice communicating in English during lessons, there is a lot more chance for our instructors to check the students' errors and mistakes.
At English Plus, one of our instructors' responsibilities is to give a lesson feedback at the end of each lesson.
So, our instructors should be attentive to check all the students' talk during each lesson.
With this feedback system, our students can notice what is wrong with their grammar and vocabulary by themselves.
To continue this feedback, they tend to make the same mistakes less and less.
After our instructors accumulate some corrections from the lessons, we always make a review test for each student.
Most of our students try this review test in their free time in order to review the lessons.
Because of their efforts to try this individual feedback sheet, some of our students' TOEIC score have gone up.
We are continuing to support our students to improve their English skills from now on too.
