Today, let's learn and practice some useful English expressions.
It is not too much to say that these days every one has a cell phone.
Compared with a decade ago, cell phone technologies have greatly been improved.
However, there are still some spots that we can't get good reception in Japan.
So, today, let's learn expressions related to cell phone.
For instance...
・I have no reception.
・I have bad reception.
・My phone doesn't get much reception.
・This place has bad reception.
When you have a chance, try to use these!!

本日は“携帯の電波が悪いと言いたい時にすぐに使える英語”です。

最近では皆が１台携帯電話を持っていると言っても過言ではないほど携帯電話が普及しています。

１０年前と比べると、携帯電話はすごく進化したと同時に、まだ携帯の電波が弱いところも存在します。

そんな今日は携帯電話、特に携帯の電波に関する英語表現を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば・・・

・I have no reception.（携帯の電波がない）

・I have bad reception.（携帯の電波が悪い）

・My phone doesn't get much reception.（自分の携帯の電波がよくない）

先週日曜のキッズ英語レッスンの後の話（他のカフェへ勉強会の巻）

Good morning and I appreciate your visiting to this English Plus blog!
Today, I’d like to write about a story after kids lesson last Sunday.
Last Sunday was the day when I taught kids some English at Maruzen/Junkudo bookstore in Shibuya. (Thank you for all those who joined us!!)
After the lesson, I went to a cafe near the bookstore with my friends, who helped me with the kids lesson.
The cafe is famous for its original cake, which is close to chiffon cake.
I ordered a piece for myself and it was big and delicious.
It was worth going because the interior of the cafe was good.
Also I was able to learn something new for English Plus cafe!
In the near future, hopefully we at English Plus cafe can create more original and also delicious sweets by ourselves!!

本日は“キッズ英語レッスンの後の話（他のカフェへ勉強会の巻）”です。

先週の日曜日は渋谷の丸善・ジュンク堂書店さんでのキッズレッスンの日でした。
（お越しいただいた皆様ありがとうございました！！）

レッスンが終わった後、キッズレッスンをお手伝いしてくれた関係者の皆で、丸善・ジュンク堂書店さんの近くにあるカフェへ勉強も兼ねて行ってきました。

そのカフェはオリジナルの（シフォンのような感じの）ケーキが有名なカフェで、勉強のためにその有名なケーキを食べてみましたが、とてもボリュームがありおいしかったです。

カフェの内装を見るだけでも参考になりましたが、今後のEnglish Plusカフェに活かせるようなアイディアがいろいろと浮かんできましたので、行くことができとても良かったです！

近い将来English Plusカフェでも、もっとオリジナル、かつ、おいしいスイーツが提供できるように努力していきたいと思います！

カフェメニューの変更第二弾 - ランチプレートの選べる手作り米粉パン or ライス開始！

Good morning and I appreciate your visit to this English Plus' blog!
Today, I'd like to announce a new lunch service at English Plus Cafe.
The day before yesterday, I announced a new lunch service of "soup" and today I'd like to add another new lunch service.
Since this month started, we've seriously been making bread for lunch by ourselves.
To make it a little more unique, our hand-made bread is made with rice flour!
So, there is soft chewy texture in our rice bread, which is my favorite taste!
Now you can choose either bread or rice with our lunch plate.
Of course, lunch plate comes with soup, drink, and dessert!!
The amount of lunch we can serve is limited, so if you are interested, please come to English Plus cafe a little earlier!
Lunch starts from 11:30!

パンは少しユニークさを出すためにも、と思い米粉を使用しています。

米粉パンはもちもちした食感が特徴で、個人的にはとてもお気に入りです！

ランチプレートは、この米粉パンかライスをお選びいただけます。

プレートにはスープ・ドリンク・デザートがついてきます！

ランチは数量限定になりますので、ご興味ございましたらお早目にどうぞ！

English Plus初のネイティブの先生のレッスン開始！

Good morning and thank you very much for reading this English Plus' blog!
Today, I'd like to write about a lesson by a new teacher at English Plus.
Last evening a new teacher, Kevin, started teaching here at English Plus!

Before he gave a lesson to our students yesterday, he gave a pre-lesson to our staff members at English Plus.
The staff members seemed to have enjoyed so much that I could hear their cheerful voice from the classroom!
After the pre-lesson, he gave a lesson to our students, which also seemed fun!!
Kevin's lessons are at 18:50～19:35, 19:45～20:30, and 20:35～21:20 on Tuesdays.
He teaches "45-min Conversation lesson" so if you are interested, join us at English Plus!

本日は“English Plus初のネイティブの先生のレッスン開始！”です。

昨日からEnglish Plus英語学校では新しい先生（Kevin先生）のレッスンが始まりました。

昨日がEnglish Plusでの初レッスンと言うこともあり、スタッフが生徒様へのレッスンに先駆けてレッスンを受講しました。

受講したスタッフはレッスンをとても楽しんでいたようで、英語を話すにぎやかな声がクラスから聞こえてきました！

スタッフがレッスンを受講した後、生徒の方たちがレッスンを受講しましたがそちらも盛り上がっていました！！

Kevin先生のレッスンは、火曜日の１８：５０～１９：３５、１９：４５～２０：３０、２０：３５～２０：４５の３レッスン（４５分英会話レッスン）を担当していますので興味がある方はお気軽にお問い合わせください！

Today, I'd like to announce new lunch menu at English Plus Cafe.
It's in the middle of winter now and it's very cold.
In this season, I guess everyone could use some hot drink!
So, since yesterday we've started serving hot soup with lunch menu at English Plus cafe.
Now if you come to English Plus cafe for lunch, you can get lunch plate with soup, drink, and dessert!!
If you have a chance, please visit us since the number of lunch is limited!
Lunch starts from 11:30!
Also, you can check out English school and ask some questions when you visit for lunch!

寒い時期なので、English Plusカフェでは昨日より、ランチに温かいスープをつけることにしました。

今ならランチにはメインとなるランチプレートに、スープ＋ドリンク＋デザートがついてきます！

数量限定でお出ししておりますので、お近くにお立ち寄りの際はどうぞ！

ちなみにランチは１１：３０～となります。

English Plus英語学校のオープン時間変更に関してのお知らせ

Good morning and thank you for visiting to this English Plus' blog!
Today, I'd like to announce new English Plus opening hours.
At the moment, English Plus' English school is open from 7:10 to 21:15 on weekdays. (and cafe is open from 10:00 to 20:00)
On Saturdays, English school is open from 8:00 to 16:15 and so is cafe.
We are closed on Sundays.
Since we started English Plus last October, we've continued the schedule above; however, this time we've decided to change English Plus' school opening hours.
On weekdays, English school is open from 10:00 to 21:15. (Not from 7:10)
The other schedules, such as Cafe's schedule (open from 10:00 to 20:00. The last order at cafe is at 19:45 on weekdays), and Saturdays schedule (open from 8:00 to 16:15) are the same.
We are closed on Sundays.
About morning lessons, even though we're going to change the opening hours, we have the same morning lesson schedule, which starts from 7:10.

The schedule change is effective from January 23 2012.

本日は“English Plus英語学校のオープン時間変更に関してのお知らせ”についてです。

現在、English Plusの英語学校は平日７：１０～２１：１５までオープンしています。

カフェは１０：００～２０：００までとなっております。

土曜日の英語学校・カフェの営業時間は共に８：００～１６：１５となっており、日曜日はお休みをいただいております。

昨年１０月にEnglish Plusをオープンして以来、上記のスケジュールで営業してきましたがこの度、英語学校の営業時間を少し変更することになりました。

変更点は１点で、平日の英語学校のオープンが今までの７：１０～２１：１５が１０：００～２１：１５に変更になります。

（カフェの営業時間（平日１０：００～２０：００、ラストオーダーは１９：４５）や土曜日の営業時間（８：００～１６：１５、ラストオーダーは１６：００）、日曜日は定休日という点は変更ありません）

なお、英語学校オープン時間に伴う朝レッスンの変更は特にありませんので、レッスンがある時は通常通り７：１０～レッスンをしております。
（レッスンがある時のみ７：１０～オープンしており、受付は１０：００～となります。）

英語講師の留学経験 - トロントの日本食レストランの思い出

Good morning and thank you for visiting this English Plus' blog!
Today, I'd like to write about my study abroad experience in Toronto, Canada.
Toronto is the biggest city in Canada and there are a lot of people from all over the world there.
A lot of people living in one city means there are wide varieties of food and restaurants there!
There are a lot of international restaurants, such as Greek, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Italian, Polish, Brazilian, and of course Japanese.
In downtown Toronto, there are some Japanese restaurants, but most of them can serve sushi.
Some restaurants offer all-you-can-eat sushi buffet at a reasonable price!
Speaking of a buffet restaurant, I remember this story that when I was in Toronto, basically I didn't miss Japanese food.
However, one time I really wanted to eat Japanese food, so I went to an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet restaurant.
At first, I enjoyed eating a lot of sushi, but after a while I realized that I ate too much...then, I felt sick and I regret eating too much.
One thing I learned from this experience is that I shouldn't stuff myself!
By the way, here is some sushi-related vocabulary that you can use at a Japanese restaurant abroad!
・Nigiri-sushi = hand-shaped sushi
・Maki-sushi = sushi roll
・Inari-sushi = sushi rice stuffed in a fried bean curd
・Chirashi-sushi = assorted sashimi on rice
・Gari = pickled ginger, vinegared ginger
・Wasabi = Japanese horseradish
・Shoyu = soy sauce

本日は“英語講師の留学経験 - トロントの日本食レストランの思い出”です。

トロントはカナダで一番大きく、いろいろな国の人が住んでいる都市です。

いろいろな国の人が住んでいることもあり、いろいろな種類の食べ物・レストランもあります。

簡単に挙げると・・・ギリシャ、中国、韓国、インド、イタリア、ポーランド、ブラジル、他の地域・国の料理・レストランもたくさんあり、もちろん日本の物もあります。

トロントのダウンタウンでは日本食のレストランを結構見かけることがありますが、ほとんどのお店では寿司を出しています。

いくつかのレストランでは寿司食べ放題のサービスをしているレストランもあります。

トロントでの食べ放題のレストランの思い出と言えば、自分がトロントにいた時、それほど日本食が恋しくはなかったのですが、一度だけ無性に日本食が食べたくなり日本食食べ放題のレストランへ行きました。

最初は“おいしい”と思い調子に乗りいろいろと食べていましたが、食べすぎで気分が悪くなり、後で後悔した思い出があります。腹８分目という言葉を身を持って学んだ経験でした。

ちなみに以下の語彙を覚えておくと、海外の日本食（寿司）レストランで役に立つと思います。

・にぎり寿司 = hand-shaped sushi

・巻き寿司 = sushi roll

・いなり寿司 = sushi rice stuffed in a fried bean curd

・ちらし寿司 = assorted sashimi on rice

・がり = pickled ginger, vinegared ginger

・わさび = Japanese horseradish

・醤油 = soy sauce
