Jelly scrolling happened to OnePlus 5

2017-07-07 11:08:16 | Samsung Galaxy S8

Why this happened

At the beginning, some people think this issue may be caused by the manufacturing defect, Quality Assurance mishap, or software bug, but the OnePlus Company claim this problem is normal:

The OnePlus 5 uses the same level of high-quality components as all OnePlus devices, including the AMOLED display. We’ve received feedback from a small number of users saying that at times they notice a subtle visual effect when scrolling. This is normal and there’s no variance in screens between devices.

There is not any certain reason about this issue until now. The generally accepted reason in the XDA forum is that the OnePlus 5 displayis mounted upside down. Some users point out that when holding any other brand smartphone upside down then they can see the same jelly scrolling effect on those devices, so they think the display in OnePlus 5 is mounted incorrectly.

XDA reports that OnePlus 5's display matrix is inverted when compared to that of the OnePlus 3T, also there is a hardware evidence compared with the OnePlus 3T, from the picture below we can see the OnePlus 5's panel has been mounted upside down.

Above all, we can see this is a deliberate decision by OnePlus Company to get enough space for dual camera setup.

What should we do

No matter what causes this issue, we all hope the OnePlus Company can fix this issue as soon as possible, every consumer should be treated fairly. If you have encountered this issue and don’t care about it, you can still use it because OnePlus 5 is very cost-effective. If you can’t stand it, you can return it within 15 days.

Moto E4 Plus Will Be a Flipkart Exclusive, E-Commerce Site Teases

Flipkart has now listed the Moto E4 Plus advert on its website, and Moto India has also tweeted the partnership with the e-commerce site for the launch of the smartphone. The unveiling will be a 12pm IST this coming Wednesday.

The price in India and availability details of the smartphone should be announced at the same event. The Moto E4 was reportedly made available offline in India at Rs. 8,999 earlier this week, so the Moto E4 Plus price in India would likely be higher than that. To recall, the Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus were both launched globally in June and $179.99 (roughly Rs. 11,600) respectively.

Moto E4 Plus specifications

The Moto E4 Plus has a slightly bigger 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. It will be powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 427 SoC in the US, and MediaTek MTK6737M chipset outside of North America. Apart from the 2GB/ 16GB variant, it has an additional 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant as well.

The rear camera is bumped up to 13-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, and single-LED flash support. The biggest USP of the Moto E4 Plus is a 5000mAh non-removable battery that supports fast charging as well. The dimensions measure at 155x77.5x9.55mm, and the sony replacement parts weighs 181 grams. In the US, the Moto E4 Plus will be available in Iron Grey and Fine Gold colour options. All the other specifications are identical to the Moto E4.
