2017-08-24 11:33:52 | Samsung Galaxy S8

The Nova series is a rather new lineup of mid-range Wiko parts coming from Huawei, but it already has quite a lot of devices. One of the additions to the Nova series that was introduced this year is the Huawei Nova 2.

The Huawei Nova 2 was launched in China back in June, but it looks like the mid-range Android smartphone will make its debut in Europe as well. Currently, the handset is listed at various retailers in the Netherlands, but its availability will certainly expand to other countries soon.

As a matter fact, the Nova 2 might be one of the phone showcased at IFA 2017 in early September, so we're expecting Huawei to offer more details on its European availability. As far as pricing goes, it looks like the Nova 2 will cost around €400 ($470) outright, much more expensive than the Chinese model ($360).

For that price, you'll get a Nougat-powered smartphone equipped with a 2.36GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage (up to 256GB). Moreover, the Nova 2 sports a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display and a dual-camera setup (12MP + 8MP sensors) with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash.

On the front side, Huawei's mid-range Wiko replacement parts boasts an impressive 20-megapixel camera for selfies. The Nova 2 is powered by a 2,950 mAh battery and offers hybrid dual-SIM support.

Vivo has sent out invites for the Vivo V7+ launch in India. The launch is set for September 7 in Mumbai where price, specifications, and availability details will be unveiled. The Vivo V7+ will be a new addition to the 'V series' of nokia parts in Vivo's expanding product portfolio for the Indian market.

While nothing is known about the Vivo V7+ smartphones as of yet, the invite shows the smartphone's display panel, hinting at an almost bezel-less display. There is a thin chin at the top and bottom bezels for sensors presumably, and there's no sign of a home button either. The fingerprint scanner will also presumably be placed at the back.

The invite also has the tagline that reads, "Redefine the selfie experience with the revolutionary selfie camera." This hints that the Vivo V7+'s big highlight will be the selfie camera experience, just like many of its earlier smartphones.

Vivo India recently also launched the selfie-focused Vivo V5s smartphone in the country, and priced it at Rs. 18,990. The big highlight of the Vivo V5s is the front camera - it bears a 20-megapixel front camera with a 'Moonlight Glow' front light and an f/2.0 aperture, apart from the Face Beauty 6.0 app. On the rear, the nokia replacement parts features a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF and dual-LED flash.

The dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Vivo V5s runs Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It features a fingerprint sensor on its home button. It bears a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Curved Glass, Gorilla Glass protection, and a pixel density of 267ppi. It is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM.

On the storage front, the Vivo V5s offers 64GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM format. The Vivo V5s runs on 3000mAh non-removable battery, weighs 154 grams, and measures 153.8x75.5x7.55mm.

Motorola Granted Patent for a Smartphone Display That Repairs Itself

2017-08-18 10:38:39 | Motorola

Lenovo's Moto brand has previously provided blackberry parts that have 'shatterproof' displays but it seems like the company is now ready to take things a notch higher. Motorola Mobility has now filed a patent for a screen that is capable of healing itself after getting deformed, at least to certain degree, as per the documents that were spotted on the Patent and Trademark Office website of the US.

Motorola Granted Patent for a Smartphone Display That Repairs Itself

As per the documents, spotted by The Verge, Motorola has explained that using a heating effect, the proposed smartphone will be able to repair the damage partially in the affected area after identifying the cracks on its own, as per the report. In its documents, Motorola has mentioned "shape memory polymer" to make the screen, which can essentially come back to its original condition after being deformed by simply applying some heat.

The user can reportedly use their body heat to get the screen to its original shape as well. Considering that this is just a patent filing, you can almost be sure that we are not very close to seeing these kinds of displays on smartphones soon. There is also a possibility that Lenovo might ditch this concept altogether and move onto a different technology.

Despite all the aforementioned factors, there is no doubt that this kind of a screen will save users from the cost of screen protectors and cases and will certainly help those of us who drop our blackberry replacement parts from time to time.

Smartphone Market in India

2017-08-17 11:40:49 | Samsung Galaxy S8

After witnessing slow growth in the first two quarters of this year, the Indian smartphone market is preparing for a bumper period owing to the upcoming festive season, a new report said on Wednesday.

According to market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), 28 million zte parts were shipped to India in Q2 (April-June) - marking just 3.7 percent Quarter-on-Quarter (QoQ) growth and a meagre 1.6 percent Year-on-Year (YoY) growth. The research firm observes a January-December financial year.

Indian Smartphone Market Hit by GST Awareness, Should Bounce Back Next Quarter: IDC

The impact of demonetisation late last year and implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) from July 1 caused weak sell-in shipments in the second quarter as the focus was on clearing the existing inventory.

But as the festive season is approaching, offline channels have cleared old stocks, e-retailers are getting ready for mega online festivals and vendors are set to launch new models in the festive period.

"The sentiment is indeed positive in the market. All the ambiguities have cleared now and vendors are gearing up for the upcoming festival season to recover from the slow start in the first half of this year," said Jaipal Singh, Senior Analyst, IDC India, in a statement.

Indian vendors registered 18 percent growth (QoQ) in Q2 after continuous decline in previous three quarters but share remains limited to 15 percent of overall smartphone market.

China-based vendors, which registered 9 percent QoQ growth, continue to dominate with 54 per cent market share.

"Indian vendors are putting all their efforts and second half of the year will be crucial. Either it will see a revival of Indian vendors or emergence of new dominance in the sub-$150 segment from China-based vendors," said Upasana Joshi, Senior Analyst, IDC India.

Despite a decline of 4 percent YoY, Samsung retained the top brand spot with 24 percent market share.

Xiaomi secured the second place with 17 percent market share, a 25 percent increase from previous quarter.

Xiaomi is followed by Vivo (13 percent), Oppo (8 percent) and Lenovo with 7 percent market share.

"Reliance's 4G JioPhone has created an excitement both in the channel and consumer front. This may stabilise the declining feature zte replacement parts market in the short term and the year 2017 is expected to end with a similar volume as last year," noted Navkendar Singh, senior Research Manager, IDC India.
