I read some articles about Medical Use of AI this morning.
I was not familiar with the current situation in Japan on this issue. So the article was very interesting.
Medical institutions have started using AI for various purposes in Japan,
such as to support diagnosis and to analyze data, to judge whether or not.
Such medical AI systems gives doctors the potential to spot lesions that might be overlooked by human eyes.
On the other hand, the accuracy of AI analysis can lead to the risk of fatal misdiagnosis.
Therefore, The Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry will launch a nationwide survey on the situation of AI use at medical institutions within this fiscal year.
The survey is aimed at identifying good examples of AI use that may reduce burdens on doctors and also bad examples of problems related to AI use.
The survey results will be used to draw up relevant guidelines for medical institutions.
The government’s 2022 medical strategy called for the government to promote the use of AI in medicine.
But many experts point out that there are various problems with using AI in medicine.
Such as reliability for AI medicine, risk management when trouble occurs, current situation where the law cannot keep up with technology.
I agree with them.
However, the society where medical care and AI are inseparable is coming.
