The U.S. Department of Justice has proposed forcing Google to sell its Chrome browser, and potentially the Android mobile operating system, to diminish Google's dominance in online search.
U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta in Washington said he would not delay the trial on Tuesday , in the event that DOJ officials appointed by President-elect Donald Trump intend to revise the proposals.
However some experts predict that enforcement of the strict competition laws might be relaxed.
Trump questioned whether Google's split is the right decision at the event of the Chicago Economic Club in October.
And Trump expressed concern that Google’s dismantling might give Chinese high-tech companies an advantage.
As president, Trump has the authority to instruct DOJ to stop Google's lawsuit.
But it’s very rare for the president to do it.
According to Forbes,
Google CEO Sundar Pichai , seem to have tried to improve his relationship with Trump.
Pichai called Trump and said, "The campaign at McDonald's is causing the biggest response ever on Google”.
This is a very interesting issue, but I have no idea what will happen with this lawsuit.
