於是、其伊呂弟水齒別命、參赴令謁。爾天皇令詔「吾疑汝命若與墨江中王同心乎、故不相言。」答白「僕者無穢邪心、亦不同墨江中王。」亦令詔「然者今還下而、殺墨江中王而上來、彼時吾必相言。」故卽還下難波、欺所近習墨江中王之隼人・名曾婆加理云「若汝從吾言者、吾爲天皇、汝作大臣、治天下那何。」曾婆訶理答白「隨命。」
爾多祿給其隼人曰「然者殺汝王也。」於是曾婆訶理、竊伺己王入厠、以矛刺而殺也。故率曾婆訶理、上幸於倭之時、到大坂山口、以爲「曾婆訶理、爲吾雖有大功、既殺己君是不義。然、不賽其功、可謂無信。既行其信、還惶其情。故、雖報其功、滅其正身。」是以、詔曾婆訶理「今日留此間而、先給大臣位、明日上幸。」留其山口、卽造假宮、忽爲豐樂、乃於其隼人賜大臣位、百官令拜、隼人歡喜、以爲遂志。
爾詔其隼人「今日、與大臣飮同盞酒。」共飮之時、隱面大鋺、盛其進酒。於是王子先飮、隼人後飮。故其隼人飮時、大鋺覆面、爾取出置席下之劒、斬其隼人之頸、乃明日上幸。故、號其地謂近飛鳥也。上到于倭詔之「今日留此間、爲祓禊而、明日參出、將拜神宮。」故、號其地謂遠飛鳥也。故、參出石上神宮、令奏天皇「政既平訖參上侍之。」爾召入而相語也。天皇於是、以阿知直、始任藏官、亦給粮地。
亦此御世、於若櫻部臣等、賜若櫻部名、又比賣陀君等、賜姓謂比賣陀之君也。亦、定伊波禮部也。天皇之御年、陸拾肆歲。壬申年正月三日崩。御陵在毛受也。
弟、水齒別命、坐多治比之柴垣宮、治天下也。此天皇、御身之長、九尺二寸半。御齒長一寸廣二分、上下等齊、既如貫珠。天皇、娶丸邇之許碁登臣之女・都怒郎女、生御子、甲斐郎女、次都夫良郎女。二柱。又娶同臣之女・弟比賣、生御子、財王、次多訶辨郎女。幷四王也。天皇之御年、陸拾歲。丁丑年七月崩。御陵在毛受野也。

At Isonokami Shrine, Emperor’s younger brother, Mizuhawake, came to the Emperor. The Emperor spoke through his subject, ‘I suspect if your intentions are in line with those of Lord Suminoenonakatsu, that’s why I don’t converse with you.’ Mizuhawake replied, ‘I have no impure thoughts, nor do I share the same intentions as Lord Suminoenonakatsu.’ The Emperor further decreed, ‘In that case, return now and kill Lord Suminoe no Nakatsu, then come back. We will talk then.’
Mizuhawake returned to Naniwa and deceived a Hayato named Sobakari, who served Lord Suminoenonakatsu. He said, ‘If you listen to me, I will become the Emperor and make you a minister to rule the land. What do you think?’ Sobakari agreed, and Mizuhawake gave him many goods, saying, ‘Then go and kill your lord.’ Sobakari, aware that his lord was in the restroom, took a spear and killed him. When Mizuhawake later returned to Yamato with Sobakari, at Yamaguchi in Osaka he thought, ‘Sobakari has achieved great merit for me, but killing his own lord is unjust. However, if I don’t reward him for his merit, I will lose his trust. Furthermore, if I keep my promise, he might turn against me later.’ So, he told Sobakari, ‘Stay here today. I will grant you the position of minister, and we will go to Yamato tomorrow.’ Mizuhawake stayed at the Yamaguchi area and built a temporary palace, quickly held a banquet, where he gave Sobakari the position of minister and had all the officials bow to him. Sobakari was pleased, thinking that his loyalty had been recognized. Then, Mizuhawake said to Sobakari, ‘Today, let’s have a drink together as ministers,’ and they drank from large bowls. When Sobakari drank, the large bowl covered his face. Mizuhawake took out a sword that he had placed under his seat and beheaded Sobakari. This way, the next day, he went up to the area and named it Chikatsu Asuka(Near Asuka). When he arrived in Yamato, he said, ‘Let’s stay here today and purify ourselves, and tomorrow we will visit the shrine.’ So, he named that place Tootsu Asuka(Far Asuka). Then, he visited Isonokami Shrine and reported to the Emperor, ‘I have pacified everything.’ The Emperor summoned him and spoke with him. The Emperor gave an official in the Treasury to the Achi no Atae, and also gave him a fief.
In this era, he gave the name Wakasakurabe to the subjects of the Wakasakura clan, and he granted the title Himeda-no-kimi to the princesses of Himeda. He also established the Iwarebe department. The Emperor passed away at the age of sixty-four, on the third day of the first month of the Mizunoe-Saru year. His mausoleum is located in Mozu.

またこの御世に若櫻部(わかさくらべ)の臣(おみ)等に若櫻部という名を賜わり、比賣陀(ひめだ)の君等に比賣陀の君という稱號を賜わりました。また伊波禮部(いわれべ)をお定めなさいました。天皇は御年六十四歳、壬申(みずのえさる)の年の正月三日にお隱れになりました。御陵はモズにあります。
