Today, let's learn an English expression from English Plus' winter vacation.
This past winter, I went on a business trip to Vancouver, Honolulu, and Toronto.
I was busy because I visited these three cities in about 10 days.
A lot of things happened during this trip, and today I'd like to write about public transportation in Toronto.
About 6 or 7 years ago, I was staying in Toronto for about a year.
This trip to visit Toronto was my first visit since then.
At that time, Toronto was the biggest city in Canada and it still is the biggest one.
I was surprised because a lot of things have changed since I was there last.
One of the surprising things was TTC, which is Toronto's public transportation system.
Now, TTC has some new street cars and new trains, which looked cool though I prefer the old ones.
Anyway, Toronto is a big city so if you visit there, using TTC is the best way.
TTC runs everywhere in Toronto so you can go anywhere with this convenient public transportation.
The price is reasonable too and TTC offers several different tickets.
One of the valuable tickets for tourists is "Day Pass."
On weekends or holidays, two adults (+ maximum 4 kids under 19 years old) can use TTC with one day pass ($11)!
Actually, I could buy this Day Pass at Toronto Pearson Airport.
So, if you want to go around Toronto soon after you arrive, Day Pass is good!
When you buy a Day Pass, you can say "I'll have a Day Pass." or "Can I have a Day Pass?" in English.
Buy one and enjoy Toronto!
