Good morning and I really appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to write about a piece of advice for English learners who are taking English lessons.
Since I began to teach English, 10 years has already passed.
Through my career as an English instructor, I've had some opportunities to teach students from all over the world, such as Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Mexico, Russia and so on.
From my teaching experience, I've learned and discovered a lot of things from my students.
One of the things I've learned through teaching English lessons is that the speed of improvements on English skills depends on a student.
This is true that some students can improve their English skills slowly but steadily; others can improve quickly.
In my opinion, those who can improve their English skills quickly have 5 common characteristics, and today I'd like to write about the third one.
The third one is someone who is not afraid of speaking English.
During lessons, some students hesitate to speak English because they don't want to make mistakes.
I understand how they feel since I was one of them too.
However, in order to improve English skills, we shouldn't be afraid of making mistakes when speaking English.
In Canada (or some other English speaking countries), you have a lot of chance to meet foreign students who come there to learn English.
A lot of them don't hesitate to speak English because they are basically not afraid of making mistakes.
By making mistakes, we can learn some other things too, so let's try to speak English a lot.
From my point of view as an English instructor, someone who is not afraid of making mistakes can improve their English skills quickly.
It takes some time to strengthen your mind, but at English Plus, our classroom size is maximum 4 students so our students can get used to speaking a lot even though they are shy at first.
Let's try to learn and speak English a lot and improve English skills a lot.
