Now almost I checked the performance of XDS2102A.This model is kind of the younger brother of XDS3102A,looking at the spec.The max memory depth is 20MB,half of XDS3102A's,though as I mentioned later details,but sampling rate of time base 500us/div,when we measure the AM modulation,the carrier frequency of which is 100MHz and demodulated frequency 1kHz,sampling rate maintains 500MSa/s.So no problem at all.You don't worry about the sampling theory,whether we can do measure AM modulation or not.The max waveform refresh rate is similar to XDS3102A's,its max is declared as 55000wfm/s.Actually I've confirmed 53500wfm/s at the time base 50ns/div,quite nice.I can say the several good points of this oscilloscope.At first,I have to say,the catch phrase "12 Bits High Resolution ADC",which makes the vertical resolution better.If you are the observer of EEVBlog,you remembered that someone investigated the using ADC of XDS3102A is HAD1520(8/12/14bits ADC).I've already opened the case of XDS2102A,and looking at the same kind of ADC,newer than HAD1520,named as HAD1530(I glanced at it,so I might check again.lol).This ADC IC also do same sampling at 8bits/12bits/14bits basis,it might depend on the setting.In XDS3102A,it works as the vertical resolution at either 8bits or 12bits,if the memory depth is deep,it might be down to 8bits,but in most case it works at 12bits supposedly.So does XDS2102A!! Now if you hope to get so-called 14bits model,working 8/12/14bits,you can choose XDS3064AE,XDS3104AE,and XDS3202A,but these are more expensive than XDS2102A.If you select XDS2102A,You have to give up the options of XDS3102A,like the internal battery,touch panel,digital multimeter(DMM),Dual or single channel arbitrary function generator,WiFi,though still you can choose VGA oprion (AV composite's RCA out also works),which is only option of XDS2102A(we call it XDS2102AV).But different from XDS3102A,you can get 2 options free,I mean,Serial bus analysis options (1)I2C/SPI/RS232C(UART) and (2)CAN,with both the specific triggers and decodes.(If you want to use all options I mentioned above,plz purchase XDS3102A with all options)
Of course,you can purchase,OWON SDS-E series(SDS5052E/SDS6062E/SDS7072E/SDS7102E/SDS7122E::Especially I think,125MHz DSO/SDS7122E is one of the cadidate to purchase,sampling rate 1GSa/s /Record Length 1MB) at cheaper or same price of XDS2102AV,but plz consider,Now XDS2102AV appeared,then why not buy it? The one of the benefit of XDS2102A is high waveform refresh rate,max 55000wfm/s.

Pass/Fail Test
You know pass/fail test,using this function,for example,you can test the stability of DDS signal generator.
But also you can sometimes detect the abnormal signal,by setting as Fail/Stop,and if it detects the state of Fail,it stops and maintains the waveform last triggered.XDS2102AV's pass/fail continues to work,until it detects fail.
