日本の城の天守のうち、江戸時代またはそれ以前に建設され、現代まで保存されている天守（現存天守）は、たった12箇所しかありません。その１つ、標高66ｍの亀山に建つ丸亀城（別名、亀山城、蓬莱城）。12天守の中では１番小さいですが、360度お堀に囲まれ、高い石垣の上に建つ姿は素晴らしいです。
There are only twelve castle towers left in Japan which were built in the Samurai period (Edo era or before). Marugame Castle, also known as Kameyama Castle and Horai Castle, is one of them. It is not so big but very beautiful, situated on a hill called Mt. Kameyama (66 meters high) surrounded by a moat in a plain in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture in Shikoku.

The signboard says that the man who built the stone walls was killied by stones while he was in the well.  The lord at that time worried that the secret of the castle would be revealed by the man

 現存12天守の中では最少の丸亀城。
天守最上部は、こじんまりとしていますが、360度見渡せる眺めは最高です。

The highest floor of the Maruyama Castle Tower. So small but you can enjoy 360° panoramic views.
