Big Mountain Yuzawa Snow Link

天気も良いし、湯沢高原・GALA・石打丸山の３つスキー場を１枚のチケットで自由に行き来できる3山共通リフト券を買って丸1日スキー三昧することにしました
(大人一日券：5,700円）

It was so fine day that I decided to buy Yuzawa Snow Link Pass, which includes 3 ski resorts: Yuzawa Kogen, GALAYuzawa and Ishiuchi Maruyama. (1 day pass: Adult: 5,700JPY).

関越トンネル(約11km、1985年開通）を抜けると、いきなり雪国～湯沢～

After you go through Kan-Etsu tunnel, you'll suddenly be in a snowy province.

石打丸山スキー場   

Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski & Snowboard Resort

最大傾斜、Max. Pitch is 35°.
最大高低差、Vertical Drop is 664m (920m-256m).
最大滑走距離、Max. Run Length 4,000m
コースレベル、Difficulty of Terrain 初級 Beginner 30%, 中級 Intermediate 40%, 上級 Advanced 30%
コース数、Trails 22　　terrain=ﾀﾚｲﾝﾇ=地形、地勢

初心者コース30％となっていますが、初心者が滑るのは相当厳しいゲレンデです でも、中級者以上には、変化に富んで、とても楽しいスキー場  景色も抜群に良いです。上級者だったら、3山クルージングで、長距離滑走がおすすめです。

Ishiuchi Maruyama is very good for Intermediates but too difficult for beginners. If you are advanced, you should try Yuzawa Snow Link, which includes 3 ski resorts.

 同じ線に、リフトとゴンドラの両方がかかっているという…
10-person Gondolas and 6-person hooded chair lifts are on the same line.  Incredible!

普段はコブ斜面ですが、ふわふわの雪に覆われた微妙なコブで、滑りやすいのか滑りにくいのか？？？

ここは、山頂から麓まで一気に滑り込むと、雪質が徐々に低下するのですが、この日は麓まで雪のコンディションはバッチリでした！

Usually snow condition is good on the top and becomes worse at the foot.  But it was so nice even at the foot on that day.

石打丸山に来ると、必ず利用する「レストラン・ケルン」で早めの昼食です。

石打丸山スキー場の山頂から、ガーラスキー場へ滑りながら移動～

この日は、雪が多すぎて、南エリアが閉鎖。さらに、湯沢高原スキー場につながるゴンドラも休みです。

Southern Area for the advanced was closed because of the hevey snow and Gondola to Yuzawa Kogen was out of operation.

ゴンドラ脇（一部下をくぐる）下山コースのファルコン（2.5km)を滑ります。JR湯沢駅を山々の間に見下ろしながら滑る絶景のコースなのですが、スキーを担いで、100ｍほど？のトンネルを登らないと、下山コースには行けないのが…
2.5km Downnhill Course called Falcon is so exciting, even though you have to carry your skis through a ascendant tunnel (about 100m long?)

最大高低差、Vertical Drop is 840m (1170m-330m).
最大滑走距離、Max. Run Length 5,000m
コースレベル、Difficulty of Terrain 初級 Beginner 40%, 中級 Intermediate 30%, 上級 Advanced 30%
コース数、Trails 8

14:20pm 
GALAの麓から湯沢高原ロープウェイ乗り場まで、３山の無料シャトルバスで移動。
To go to Yuzawa Kogen, you can take the shuttle buses running among three ski resorts free.

ロープウエイは、全長1,300ｍで高低差500ｍを7分でつなぎます。ロープウエイを降りて、２本リフトを乗り継ぐと、湯沢高原の山頂に到達できます。 湯沢高原は降雪量が多く、雪質も良いのですが、強風で寒いことも多いのが難点。しかし、この日は風もなく快晴。山頂から、下山コースを一気に降りる下山コースは最高です。

The ropeway is 1,300 meters long and rises 500 meters from its lowest to highest points in seven minutes.

After getting off the ropeway, riding on two lifts, you can reach the top of Yuzawa Kogen.

You can ski from the top to the bottom through downhill course, more than 3,000m.

（山の麓はfootですが、from top to  bottom　で「一番上から一番下まで」という成句なので、この表現で良いとのこと）

山頂から、２本、下山コースを滑り（時間の都合で結構飛ばしましたが…）、今回最後の３本目は、ゆっくり滑ることに…
After enjoying skiing twice from the top to the bottom, (I skied so fast this time though), I skied slowly at the third time, the last run on that day.

山頂から一気に滑り込める下山ルートのコマクサコース（2,000m)は、林間コースですが、平坦なところがほとんどなく、上級者でも十分に楽しめるスリリングなコースです。個人的には、長距離コースとしては、日本で有数のコースと思います

The downhill course called Komakusa Course is a narrow and steep lane.  I think it is one of the most longest and thrilling trails in Japan especially for the advanced.
