フォロ・ロマーノから真実の口(Vocca della Verita)を経てヴェネツィア広場に向かうのですが…
「信じられない出来事が！！！」（イタリア旅行３）の続き。
On the way from the Roman Forum to the Plaza of Venice via the Statue called "the mouth of truth" which is well-known in the movie, Roman Holiday…
Another incredible thing happened!…continued from Italy 3.
↑こちらの中央の屋上に建つ、青銅色の像を覚えておいてください
Please remember the bronze statue on the rooftop in the middle.
ちょっとした丘を登ると、そこにはカンピドーリオ広場（Piazza del Campidoglio)。
カンピトリーノ（Canpitolino）とも…英語のcapital(首都)の語源。
（中央の像はマルクス・アウレリウス像のレプリカ）
この広場とその周辺の宮殿はルネッサンス時代の芸術家であり建築家であるミケランジェロが設計したということで…すごい
ただこれ、家に帰ってきて調べてみて、初めてわかったことで…行った時は全く知らなかったという…
Piazza del Campidoglio, on the top of Capitoline Hill.
The statue in the center is a replica of the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius.
This piazza and the surrounding palaces are designed by Renaissance artist and architect Michelangelo Buonarroti in 1536-1546.

丘を降りて、真実の口に向かおうとするも、途中には遺跡がザクザクと現れ…なかなか進めません…
I wanted to hurry to the mouth of truth, but so many ruins on the way prevented me from doing so!
地図にも載っていないような遺跡で、とりあえず写真を撮り、日本に帰ってきてから調べてみました。
紀元前13年に建てられたマルケッルス劇場
（皇帝アウグストゥスの甥マルクス・マルケッルスの名を冠している）
Theater of Marcellus (Teatro di Marcello) built in 13BC.
I found its name after I came back to Japan.
これは、遺跡のところにあった掲示物ですが、よく読んでみると色々びっくり！
「中世の地区全体が1920年代に破壊され、古代ローマの遺跡を覆い隠していた、後世にできた建造物から、劇場の区域は解放された。」と書いてあります。
つまり、中世の建物でさえ、すごかったのに、その下にはもっとすごい古代ローマの遺跡が眠っていたと…歴史のレベルが違いすぎる～～
There was a sign board saying "The entire Medieval district was demolished in the 1920's and the area of the theater was "liberated" from the later constructions that concealed the ancient Roman monuments."
Amazing!!
さらに歩くこと20分....ついに、サンタ・マリア・イン・コスメディン教会にある「真実の口、ボッカ・デラ・ベリタ」へ～～
It took about 20 minutes on foot to the church, Santa Maria in Cosmedin, which has "The Mouth of Truth, Bocca della Verita" .
真実の口は柱廊の一番左の壁にありました。
1人ずつ記念撮影をするので行列が～～20分くらい待ったな。
初め無料、2016年に€２になったようですが、今は寄付金を入れるようになっていました。
The marble mask stands against the left wall of the portico of the church.
You have to wait in line, because many people want to take a picuture with it.
(This time I waited for 20 minutes and donated small change.)

教会からテヴェレ川（Fume Tevere)までは、歩いてすぐです。

放置されている壊れた橋の遺構はいつの物かはわかりませんが、迫力あります。（パラティーノ橋・Ponte Palatinoから撮影）
A ruined bridge taken from Palatino Bridge.
島は舟型で、全長270メートル、最大幅67メートルあり、古代ローマ時代から橋が架けられていて、両岸をつないでいたとのことで…う～～ん、本当にすごい
The island is boat-shaped, approximately 270 meters long and 67 meters wide, and has been connected with bridges to both sides of the river since antiquity. Marvelous!

ここまで死ぬほど歩いたので、ドリンクを買って飲むことに~
景色も最高で、やっと一息つけました～
As I walked, walked, and walked, I bought a drink!
I could enjoy a beautiful piece of scenery as well as a yummy cold drink!
せっかくローマ・パスがあるのだからと、市電(Tram)に乗って、終点のヴェネツィア広場(Piazza Venezia)に向かうことに…
As I got a Roma Pass, I decided to ride a tram and go to Piazza Venezia which is a terminal.
↑ヴェネツィアは黄緑ラインの終点（ちょうど中央付近）
Venezzia is at the end of the light-green line. (just around the center of the map)
とりあえず、試しにテキトウに、市電に乗りました。そして、びっくり
市電に乗る時も降りる時も、チケットのチェックはなくて、ただ乗りOK⁉だったのです。打刻機みたいなものはあったようですが…
I couldn't figure out which tram was for Piazza Venezia, I got on one which seemed to ba a right one.
To my astonishment, nobody checked my pass though there seemed to be a time recorder... I didn't use it.
Everybody can take trams without any pass!
しばらくして「これは反対方向にむかっている？」と不安を感じたので、下車して確認することに…。地図も案内もすべてイタリア語。誰かに聞くことにしました。
1人の女性に英語を話せるか聞くと、「ノー」と返されましたが、明るいけれど7:00pm近く、「ベネチア、ベネチア!!」と叫ぶと、「あの市電で大丈夫」と身振りで教えてくれました。「よかった～～」
For a while, I noticed the tram seemed to go to the opposite way, so I got off and asked a woman.
"Do you speak English?"
She answered "No."
As it was around 7:00pm even though it was not dark, I felt hasty and cried "Venezia. Venezia!"
She gestured toward a certain tram and said "OK". I was so relieved.
やっとの思いで到着に到着。この時初めて、Piazzaが広場と知ったのでした
I managed to reach Piazza Venezia, where I found, for the first time, Piazza means a square .
2018年6月8日(金)18:55pm、ローマ市内のベネチア広場に到着。名前が不自然ですが…
Friday, 18:55pm, June 8, 2018, I finally reached Piazza Venezia, even though it was in Rome!
この広場、本当に開放感があって気持ち良いです。
The square is a real open space and so comfortable.
ヴィットリオ・エマヌエーレ2世記念堂＝ヴィットリアーノ
Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II=Altra della Patria=Vittoriano
=National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II=Altar of the Fatherland
イタリア統一記念を祝し、建設開始から16年後の1911年に落成式が行われ、1925年に完成。
中央の騎馬像が、イタリア統一を成し遂げたヴィットリオ・エマヌエーレ2世。
It is a monuent built in honor of Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy. It was inagurated in 1911 and completed in 1925.
An equestrian sculputure in the center is Victor Emmanuel II.

やっとの思いで到着したヴェネツィア広場…遠かったけど、ものすごい解放感！
そこに建つ真っ白で威風堂々としたヴィットリアーノ。真っ青な空に生えて何と神々しい‼
超気持ちいい～～
ここまで来るのに遠かったけど、来た価値がありました。
It took so long to come here, but it was worth seeing!

I came here on the next day again... (5:30pm, June 9)
ヴィットリアーノは、ローマ市内の色々なところから見ることのできる、ローマのシンボル的な建物で、ローマの景観を崩すという人も居るようですが、私は、とても気に入りました。
名前すら、日本に帰ってきてから、初めて分かったのですが…
ところで、建物の一番高いところにある「四頭立て二輪馬車に乗った勝利の女神の翼のある二対の彫像」…これ、見覚えありませんか？
By the way, can you see "two winged statues of the goddness Victoria riding on quadrigas" on the top of the Vittoriano?

実はこの馬車の上の翼のある女神…フォロ・ロマーノでも見え、カンピドーリョ広場付近でも見たし、後で行った、バチカン美術館からもしっかり確認できたのですが、全部、あの白い建物（ヴィットリアーノ）の屋上にあった像と同一のものであったとは…
この時、全く気付いていませんでした。はっきりわかったのは、なんと、日本に帰国して地図を確認した後！
なにせ、建物や場所の名前はわからないし、イタリア語は読めないし…
フォロ・ロマーノを出てカンピドーリョ広場(Campidoglio)下って、左に曲がって真実の口方面に行った際、右に曲がれば目と鼻の先にビットリアーノがあるとは…道のり…長かった…
The winged statues on carriges, which were seen from here and there including the Roman Forum…I hadn't been sure that they were the same statues until I came back to Japan and checked in the map.
I didn't know the name of monuments, areas, and moreover, everything was written in Italian!
I didn't know Piazza Venezia is so close to the Roman Forum!

Pay attention to a tall column (in the center of this photo) next to the Vittoriao.
ヴィットリアーノの隣には、何だかわからないけれど、またまたすごそうな遺跡が…
日本に帰ってきてから写真と見比べて調べ、これは、フォロ・ディ・トライアーノ（Foro di Traiano)＝トラヤヌス帝のフォロ（広場）とわかりました
かつては広大な神殿、バシリカ、図書館があったとか。
I found this ruin Trajan's Forum after I came back to Japan.
フォロの一番西側にある大円柱。トラヤヌス帝の記念柱Colonna Traianaコロンナ・トライアーナ。
皇帝のルーマニア地方における戦勝（101-103,107-108年）を祝して作られたもの。ギリシャ産の大理石を19(20?)積み上げた高さ40m、2500人の人物のレリーフ(relief/浮彫)を持ち、AD113年に完成したとか。さらに、1992年に修復を終えたとのこと。
レリーフの1つ1つ凄かったのですが、全くそのありがたみがわかっていず、1枚だけ写真を撮って素通り～
Trajan's Column is a Roman triumphal column which commemorates Roman emperor Trajan's victory in the Dacian Wars and completed in AD 113.
Though the Relief was so sophisticated, I didn't appreciate it and just took one picture.
街角には、おしゃれなオープン・カフェ（バー？レストラン？）。
お腹は空いていますが、速くしないと日が暮れる～～～せっかちな日本人…先を急がねば～～
There were many Open-air bars (restaurants?) on the streets. I was so hungry but I hurried to the next famous spot!
6月8日19:30pm、超狭い路地を抜けて見えてきたのは…？
でも、物凄い人だかりです。
At 19:30pm, June 8, after walking about 15 minutes from Trahan's Forum through so narrow streets....

トレヴィの泉 Fontana di Trevi
18世紀に完成したバロック様式の噴水。ポーリ宮殿の壁を利用した大理石の彫刻。噴水はローマ最大級。もともとは、皇帝アウグストゥスが作らせたヴィルゴ水道の終端施設の人口の泉だったとか。トレヴィはイタリア語で三差路の意味。泉の前から3本の道が伸びているのがネーミングの由来とか。
Trevi Fountain
At last I came to the Trevi Fountain!
It is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome and one of the most famous fountains in the world. They say it used to be the terminal point of the aqueduct, Agua Virgo, which supplied water to ancient Rome.
The backdrop is the Palazza Poli, a palace in Rome, which was given a monumental facade as a setting for the fountain.
Trevi means a junction of three roads in Italian. That's why the fountain is called like this.

泉は素敵ですが、なにせ混んでいて、コインを投げ込むどころではなく…
しかし、こんなビルの囲まれた狭い場所にあるとは、夢にも思いませんでした。朝は空いているということでしたが…
The fountain was too crowded to thrown a coin in.
I hadn't imagined that the Trevi Fountain was in such a crowded and small square.
I've heard, however, that it is not so crowded ealy in the morning.

Piazza di Spagna / the Square of Spain
「ローマの休日」で、オードリー・ヘップバーン演じるアン王女が訪れた有名なスペイン階段（1725年に完成）は、人が多すぎて…
名前はスペイン大使館が近くにあったことから名づけられたと…
The Spanish Steps owe their name to the Pallazzo di Spagna (the Palace of Spain), seat of the Embassy of Spain.
seat=《正式》（ある機関の）所在地、中心部
階段の上に建つのはトリニタ・ディ・モンティ教会。16C、フランス王ルイ12世の命によって創建。
間に建つ塔、オベリスク。18C、クイリナーレの丘から移築。

20:00pm...Climbing the steps, in front of the Trinita dei Monti church at the top, I could enjoy a wonderful view.
From here, they say the Villa Medici can be reached, which I'm not sure whether I saw or not this time…
ここから、地下鉄A線のスパーニャ（SPAGNA）駅に、エレベーターで直接入れるので、帰りはそれほど歩かず済みました。
しかし、今日歩いたのは
29,755歩…やばいです
I didn't have to walk so much to go back to the hotel, because there was an elvator which directly went to Spagna Station of the A line of the subway underneath.
But...today I walked 29,755 steps in total!
