金子 雄生
東京生まれ。
10代の頃より ジャズトランペット奏者として 多くのセッションバンドに参加。
’95年自己のリーダーバンド「DUNYA FOLI」 を結成。あらゆる第三世界の旋律とリズムを取り入れた”NEW JAZZ AGE”として話題を呼び、トランペット・各種民族楽器を駆使したステージを世界各国のアーティストと繰り広げる。
他、アフリカン・レゲエ・バンド「SABOU」、アフリカン・バンド「Griot」に参加するなど、ジャズの他にも活躍の場を展開。
現在、ソロ、デュオ等での即興演奏、自己リーダー・ジャズバンド「風雲」、有機的音楽ユニット「brew」主催。
また、民族楽器の製作も手がけ、そのキットによるワークショップも好評を得ている。
Yusei KANEKO
Kaneko was born in Tokyo. After graduated a high school, Kaneko has started his career as a Jazz trumpeter and played with a number of bands and sessions.
In '95 Kaneko formed his own band "DUNYA FOLI". The band was highly evaluated as "New Jazz Age" with various melodies and rhythm vocabularies. Using trumpet and various ethnic instruments effectively, the band played energetically with many groups from all over the world.
Kaneko broadens his field from Jazz to other genre, including an African Reggae Band "SABOU" or an African Music Group "griot".
Now Kaneko plays improvised music with solo, duo and other formats, and leads a Jazz Band "FU-UN" and an Organic Music Unit "brew".
Kaneko continues pursuing "freer" sound expression.
Furthermore, Kaneko produces ethnic instruments and receives favorable reputation for his instrument production workshop with his produced kits.
