歴史は当然古くて1907年創業の伝統ある老舗ニットブランドになります。
クリケット競技に着用するスウェーターに各学校のスクールカラーをお襟やお袖口それから裾に編み立てまして
皆様、よく御存知のクリケットスウェーターになった訳なんです。
僕の若い頃（中学生時代）には、和製英語でチルデンスウェーターと呼ばれておりました。
これはテニス選手の名前が付けられたそうです。
日本特有のネーミングだと思います。
さて、その全貌ですが、

It is named after a tennis player.
I think it's a name peculiar to Japan.
