The Ultra-Domestic Democracy of Japan Begins to Inhibit the Economy as Capitalism Globalizes

It is said that Japan has experienced "lost 30 years.”

It might be natural for Japanese people to become poorer since the distribution of wealth generated by Japan's major corporations has shifted from Japanese to foreigners during those 30 years.

Foreigners hold 30% of the shares of Japanese major corporations listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

30% of the dividends from profits earned by Japanese major corporations are returned to foreigners.

Half of the employees of Japan's largest corporation, Toyota, are foreigners.

Toyota, as an international corporation, pays more than half of its labor costs to foreigners.

It might be disrespectful to refer to companies like Toyota as Japanese companies anymore.

Perhaps, many of Japan's current major corporations are considered foreign companies from an old perspective.

It is said that Japan has experienced "lost 30 years.”

However, during those 30 years, more than one-third of the distribution destination of the wealth generated by Japan's major corporations has shifted from Japanese to foreigners.

It might be said that during this 30-year period, 30% of Japanese people have been excluded from the Japanese economy and replaced by foreigners.

For Japanese companies striving to survive through multinationalization, nationalism such as whether it is Japan or foreign country may no longer matter.

Japanese people have always loved Japan's major corporations.

However, Japan's major corporations mercilessly discard useless Japan or Japanese people and strive for internationalization by seeking new markets and talented individuals.

This is capitalism.

With the aging population and loss of competitiveness, the Japanese market and Japanese people have begun to become burdensome for Japan's major corporations.

However, Japan, which has become such a burden, is also a democratic country.

Economically, it may be at a standstill, but for ultra-domestic politicians, it is the only market.

And for politicians, Japanese people are important "votes" and valuable customers.

However, politicians in this country, whose economy is the selling point, are all power-hungry ignoramuses who have risen through a process completely unrelated to capitalism or economic activity called "elections."

Therefore, unless the citizens, who are the main actors, pay constant attention and surveillance, it is uncertain what they will do.

Yet, strangely, the citizens, who are the main actors in this country, seem to have no interest in politics or elections.

No, it might be more accurate to say that they have given up.

Because of this, the country continues to move in a strange direction.

Thinking in this way, it feels as if the ossification of democracy is ruining this country.

So, I want to say it out loud.

If the people who support Japan do not show more interest in politics and go to vote, Japan's politics will decay, ruining the economy as well.

At this rate, this country is doomed.
