It’s very important to make sure what other people are saying in business situation in order to make & maintain a good relationship.
In order to do so, the following phrases might help you!
For instance:
・Can you be more specific?
・Could you explain (that word)?
・What do you mean by…?
・What exactly do you mean?
・I’m sorry, but I don’t understand…
・Let me confirm this….
・May I confirm what you just said?
・Can I check my understanding?
If the content of the story, which your associate is talking about, is unclear to you, use these phrases to make sure what he/she means!

ビジネスで英語を使う際、相手の言っていることをしっかりと確認・理解することはとても重要です。
下記に紹介するフレーズは、相手の言っていることを確認・理解するのに役立つと思います。
