来週日曜日９月１６日の丸善・ジュンク堂書店でのキッズ英語イベントのお知らせ

Good Sunday morning!
I appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to announce a Sunday English lesson for kids.
Next Sunday, September 16th, we're going to give a 30-minute English lesson for kids in Shibuya!
It's from 11 AM to 11:30 AM and the place is in Maruzen/Junkudo book store's cafe, which is located on the 7th floor of Tokyu department store.
Any kids from 5 to 10 are welcome!
The participants can enjoy learning English through a variety of fun games!
No reservation is necessary.

時間は１１時～１１時３０分、場所は渋谷の東急百貨店本店７階（渋谷駅より徒歩約５分）の丸善・ジュンク堂書店さんのカフェコーナーの一角で行います。

対象は５～１０歳のお子様ですが、年齢が多少前後しても参加可能です！

レッスンの中では、様々なゲームを通して楽しく英語を学んでいきます。

予約は必要ございませんので、ご興味ございましたら来週の日曜日１１時に渋谷・東急百貨店本店７階にお越しください！

When I was washing the bathroom at English Plus the other night, I realized that there are a lot of things we can learn from here!

英語講師が考える自己英語学習をする時のコツ

Good morning and I appreciate you for checking out this English Plus' blog.
Today, I’d like to write about tips of how to study English by oneself.
There are a lot of ways to study English by oneself!
Some people like to study grammar with reference books or grammar books.
Some prefer to read English books to improve reading skill.
Some like to improve listening skill by watching DVD and listening to music.
There are a wide variety of styles to learn English and as an English teacher I'd like to advise one thing - try to use as many skills as possible in your self-study!
For instance...
When you read English books or study on grammar books, you should read out loud at the same time.
When you watch DVD, jot down the expressions you like!
If you do your training this way, you'll be able to improve well-balanced English skills!
If you doubt, just try from now!

本日は“英語講師が考える自己英語学習をする時のコツ”についてです。

英語の自己学習には様々な方法があります。

英文法を学びたい人は参考書や問題集に取り組むことが可能ですし、

読む力（リーディングスキル）を伸ばしたい人は英語の本を多読することもあると思います。

また、ＤＶＤや洋楽などを活用してリスニングスキルを伸ばすのも１つの手です。

この他にも、英語の自己学習には色々な方法があると思いますが、英語講師として１つ自己学習のコツを挙げるとすれば…

“自己学習をする時は、できる限り多くのスキル（聞く・話す・読む・書く）を自己学習に取り入れること”です。

例えば…

・英文法のドリルを解いている時や洋書を読んでいる時は、音読（声に出して英文を読むこと）をしてみましょう！

・ＤＶＤを見ている途中で良い英語の表現がでできたら、ノートに書き留めて、実際に使える場面を想定して練習してみましょう！

自己学習時に、何か１つのスキル（聞く・話す・読む・書く）を足すことで、バランスの良い英語力がついてきます！

意外と知らない日常の身近な英語 - 歯に関する英語

Good morning and thank you very much for visiting English Plus blog!
The other day, I went to the dental check-up for the first time in 2 years or so.
Fortunately, I had no problem but my dentist told me to brush some teeth carefully.
Anyway, today let's learn some English related to teeth.
For example...
・tooth / teeth
・gum
・front teeth / back teeth
・wisdom tooth
・toothache
・cavity
Sometimes, I hear my students say "I wash my teeth."
"I brush my teeth." is the correct sentence so be careful when you want to say so.

本日は“意外と知らない日常の身近な英語 - 歯に関する英語”です。

先日、何年か振りに歯科検診に行ってきました。

幸いなことに、何も問題はありませんでしたが、診ていただいた先生から歯磨きのコツなど歯のケアについて教わりました。

そんな今日は、身近だけれども間違えやすい“歯”についての英語を紹介したいと思います。

例えば…

・tooth / teeth（１本の歯 / ２本以上の歯）

・gum（歯茎）

・front teeth / back teeth（前歯 / 奥歯）

・wisdom tooth（親不知）

・toothache（歯痛）

・cavity（虫歯）

レッスンの中で時々、"I wash my teeth."という文を聞くことがありますが、正しくは"I brush my teeth."です。

間違えやすいので少し気をつけましょう！

On September 16th (Sun) we're going to give a 30-minute English lesson for kids in Shibuya!
It's from 11 AM to 11:30 AM and the place is in Maruzen/Junkudo book store's cafe, which is located on the 7th floor of Tokyu department store in Shibuya.
Any kids from about 5 to 10 are welcome!

本日は“ビジネスでも使える人の性格を説明する時に使える英語 ～ その１”です。

日常会話でもビジネスでの会話でも人の性格について話すことがあると思います。

時に家族の性格であったり、同僚や上司の性格であったりすると思います。

人の性格について話をする時、例えば“My boss is nice.”（上司は良い人です）のような慣れ親しんでいる表現で話をしても問題ありませんが、今日はもう少し幅を広げる英語を取り上げていきたいと思います。

例えば、“My boss is...”（上司は…）
