兵庫県竹田城跡　Takeda Castle Ruins

9月下旬から4月上旬の早朝8時頃までが、雲海が出やすいとのことですが、今回は雲海はゼロ。でも、竹田城は、想像以上に素晴らしかったです。
興味のある人には、是非是非行っていただきたい!!…とお伝えしたい旅行記です

This is a picture taken from Ritsuun-kyo Valley, exbited at the entrance.

It is likelly that you will see such a scenery early in the morning (before 8:00am) from the end of September to the beginning of April.

This time I couldn't see such a scenery, but I enjoyed a lot to see a maginificent view at the ruins...much more enjoyable than I had expected!

 

↑山城の郷　Yamajiro no Sato

竹田駅から天空バスで、10分で山城の郷に到着します。
マイカーの場合、ここに車を置いて天空バス10分で竹田城跡バス停へ。さらに20分歩けば城跡入口に到着です。
天空バスは竹田駅から竹田城後を経由して、山を一周して竹田駅に戻るという一方通行で運行されています。（所要時間35分）
山城の郷から城跡までは、約2.2㎞。歩いても40分くらいです。

 

You can take Tenku bus from Takeda Station to the Takeda Castle Ruins via Yamajiro no Sato.  It takes about 20 minutes.
If you come here by car, you have to park your car here and take bus (10-minute-ride and 20-minute-walk) or walk (about 40 minutes/2.2km) to the entrance of castle ruins.

600年前から、「落ちそうでおちない不思議な岩」と言われていたとか。受験合格祈願に訪れる人も居るらしいです。

So some students preparing for the school entrance exams visit it to pray for passing them.

観光客の増加で、道など、遺跡がずいぶん荒れたというような報道を聞いたことがありましたが、今では、とてもよく整備されていて歩きやすいです。
北千畳→三の丸→二の丸→天守台のある本丸→南二の丸→南千畳まで、一方通行になっています。

I heard that the rouins and trails were badly damaged as the number of tourists increased rapidly.
Now in the ruins is a well organized one-way traffic and easy to walk.

奥の雪を冠した山は、粟賀山(962.3m、巨大なアンテナが建っています）と、ボランティアの男性が教えてくれました。

川の右奥にある丘の中腹あたりに、天空の城を写真に収めるのに絶好の場所・立雲峡があります。

From Kita (north) Senjo,
"The mountain whose top is covered with snow ia Mt. Awaga" , said a volunteer guide.
Sounkyo Valley, which has the best spot to take pictures of "Castle in the Sky",  is in the hill on the right, over the river.

2019年4月3日。今年は、寒かったせいか、桜はつぼみ。昨年は、この時期、満開だったそうです。
2019年は、4月12日に満開になったという情報あり！

There are so many cherry trees in the ruins. 
I'm sorry to say that this spring was so cold that no buds of flowers opened yet on April 3, 2019, though they were in full bloom at this time of last year.

↑天守台から南千畳方面の眺め 

標高353.7mの古城山（虎臥山）の山頂に築かれ、360°の眺望を楽しめます。
縄張りは、南北約400ｍ、東西約100ｍ。本丸の標高は351m。周りの北千畳曲輪、南千畳曲輪、花屋敷曲輪の標高は331m。この標高差20mが素晴らしい景観を生みだし、日本のマチュピチュと呼ばれる所以であると思いました。本当に想像以上のです

石垣は、自然石をあまり加工せずに積み上げた「野面積み・のずらづみ」。安土城築城で活躍した石工集団「穴太衆・あのうしゅう」の「穴太積み・あのうづみ」に似ているとのこと

From the foundation of the castle tower, toward Minami (South) Senjo;

Takeda Castle is situated 353.7m above sea level on top of Mt. Kojo and is sometimes called "Machu Pichu" in Japan.
It is 400 meters long from south to north, 100 meters wide from east to west.  The height difference between the main ward and other areas is 20 meters, so I think it makes such a magnificent view.
You can enjoy 360° panoramic view!

 ↑下山は、徒歩で、山城の郷に向かいました。竹田城跡を見上げると、感慨深いです。

I went back to Yamajiro-no-Sato on foot. On the way back, I could see the castle ruins.

 

 

 

 

立雲峡　Ritsuun-kyo Valley

 

立雲峡は、朝来山(標高756m)の中腹に位置する景勝渓谷です。展望台が3箇所あり、竹田城を見るのに絶好の場所です。
このページの一番初めに出てきた天空の城の写真は、入り口駐車場から歩いて50分くらいかかる第1展望台から撮られたようです。

There are 3 vewpoints to see Takeda Castle Ruins in Ritsuun-kyo Valley.
The picture called "Castle in the Sky" on the top of this page was taken from the viewpoint #1, the farthest from the nearest parking lot. It takes about 50 minutes to climb up to the point.

The whole view of Takeda Castle Ruins on the top of the hill. It is also called "Torafusu-jo", which means "Lying Tiger Castle"....

 

 

 ↑竹田駅から円山川を渡ったところからも、竹田城跡を見ることができます。川沿いは桜が満開でした。

You can see Takeda Castle Ruins from the bridge near Takeda station.  Cherry trees in full bloom.
