日本語でも英語でも便利な表現だと思います

どんまい！って…和製英語！？

スポーツなどをしている時に家族・友人・チームメイトが
ミスをした人に励ます言葉として有名な？「どんまい！」
コレ…実は和製英語です

ということで…今日は「どんまい！」についてデス⭐

どんまい　＝　don't mind　で
mind 「気にする・嫌と思う」という意味を含んでいるので
don't をつけると「気にしない・嫌と思わない」として使われます

ミスをしたチームメイトに「気にしないよ・気にしないで」
ということで励ます言葉として「どんまい！」

でも英語の意味合いは違うので要注意☆

例えば…
A: Would you mind if I smoke here?　
ここでタバコを吸ってもいいですか？＝気にしますか？

「吸ってもいいですよ・気にしませんよ」と言いたい時…
B or C どちらで答えますか？

B: No, I don't mind.　　or　　C: Yes, I do (mind).

B: No, I don't mind.
いいえ、気にしません＝吸っても構いません

C: Yes, I do (mind).
はい、気にします＝吸ってほしくない

jack of all trades
もともとは Jack of all trades and a master of none

意味は…多芸は無芸・器用貧乏・何でも屋
広く浅く知識はあるけど専門分野がない人のことや
何でもできる役に立つ人のことを指す表現でもあります
皮肉的なニュアンスがあるので注意が必要です

ちなみに Jack は誰か特定の人の名前ではありません
日本語でいうところの「太郎」のような感じです
