Today, also I'm writing with this style, English first then Japanese.
The topic today is "an episode from my student during lesson"
I had a lesson with one of my students the other day, and we asked each other some questions about our recent news.
The student's work environment requires English, and she needs to use English some time.
Needless to say, her co-workers also have to use English, so she said currently some of her co-workers are learning English.
One day, her co-worker asked her in English "Is there a pencil sharpener?" in a very small voice.
She was very surprised with this incident because he usually has a big voice in Japanese!!
She was really astonished by this gap and she thought when he spoke English, he was kind of cute!!
(According to her, he recently learned "there is / there are" and it seemed he wanted to try to use it)
When I heard this story, I thought his approach to use English is great!
I mean his approach to try to use something new he's just learned is fantastic!
Like him, "Don't be afraid to make mistakes!!"
Maybe if you speak English, you'll become more popular someday!

本日も“英語→日本語のスタイル”で“レッスン中のエピソード - 英語を話せばモテ期到来？”をお送りします。
先日のレッスンの中で、面白いお話を伺うことができました。
話をしてくださったご本人にお聞きし、このブログの中で書いてもよいと快く了承していただいた、“英語に関わるエピソード”をご紹介したいと思います。
その生徒の方（女性）の職場は英語を使う環境で、必然的に英語を使う必要性があり、その方同様、周囲の同僚の方も英語を学んでいるようです。
ある日、一人の同僚の方が彼女にとても小さな声で“Is there a pencil sharpener?"と聞いてきたそうです。
普段、日本語ではとても大きな声を出すその同僚の方のギャップに、彼女は驚いたと同時に、英語を話す時のシャイな姿がキュートだと感じたそうです。
（その同僚の方は最近、"there is / there are"を習い、実際に使ってみたかったようです）
この話を聞いた時、２つ思ったことがありました。
１つめは“その同僚の方の英語に対する姿勢はとても良い”ということです。
“学んだものをすぐ使う”ということはとても大切です。
２つめは“英語を話すと思いがけないことが起きる”ということです。
もしかしたら知らないところで、すごく人気者になっていたりするかもしれません。
それでは今日の英語での一言："Don't be afraid to make mistakes!!"
