Today, I'd like to introduce some English phrases that could be used this season in Japan.
Now it's the last month of this year, December!
In December, there are a lot of events going on in Japan.
One of the events is "Bonenkai."
Bonenkai is an "end-of-year party" and the purpose of "Bonenkai" is we drink and forget about the troubles of this past year.
We usually have "Bonenkai" with friends, co-workers and clients and drink together.
When we go drinking, sometimes we might ask or might be asked how much alcohol we can drink.
Today let's learn some English expressions that we can use in this situation, for instance...
If you can drink a lot...
・I can drink a lot.
・I am a hard drinker.
・I am a heavy drinker.
・I can drink like a fish.
If you can drink a little...
・I only drink socially.
・I'm a social drinker.
If you can't drink much...
・I can't drink much.
・I can't drink.
・I get drunk easily.
You might need to use the expressions above, so let's practice from now on!
