Reward

I saw an interesting news today. 
A woman living in Murfreesboro, 
Tenn., USA, foud a bag containing 
$97,000 in one-thousand-dollar bills 
at a restaurant's bathroom hanging on 
a hook of a door.
She returned the money to the woman 
who had left the cash at the bathroom. 
The woman who received the money
from the kind woman offered her to 
pay $1,000. She refused the offer.
She said the woman told her that 
she needed every penny to start her 
new life. The money wasn't hers. 
She said she had no right to it.
In Japan it has a law about such case. 
You have to offer the person who returned 
the lost valuables a reward of worth 5%-20% 
of the value. It seems it has no such law 
in Tennessee. 

　今日（きょう）は面白（おもしろ）いニュースを見（み）ました。米国（べいこく）テネシー州（しゅう）のMurfreesboroというところで、ある女性（じょせい）がレストランのトイレのドアの内側（うちがわ）のフックにかかっていたバッグの中（なか）に千（せん）ドル紙幣（しへい）で９万７千（きゅうまんななせん）ドルが入（はい）っているのを発見（はっけん）した。
　その女性（じょせい）は置（お）き忘（わす）れた人（ひと）にそのお金（かね）を返（かえ）すことになるのだが、そのお金を返した時（とき）に、そのお金の持（も）ち主（ぬし）はその親切（しんせつ）な女性に千（せん）ドルを差（さ）し出（だ）した。彼女（かのじょ）はそれを受（う）け取（と）らなかった。
　女性はその置き忘れた人は新（あら）たな人生（じんせい）のスタートのためにすべてのお金が必要（ひつよう）だと言（い）っているし、もともと自分（じぶん）のお金ではないし、自分にはなんの権利（けんり）もないと言った。
　日本（にほん）にはそのような場合（ばあい）落（お）とし主（ぬし）は落とした金額（きんがく）の5%-20%を拾（ひろ）った人に払（はら）わなければならないという法律（ほうりつ）になっている。テネシー州（しゅう）にはそういう法律がないようです。
