850 MW Re-energy business, open bid for competitive bids, Meralco

Meralco (Meralco) has recently started a public solicitation for a competitive bid for a solar power generation business proposal with a total power generation of 850 MW using a power storage facility by Terra Solar. Terra Solar is a joint venture between Prime Infrastructure Capital and Solar Philippines' Power Project Holdings, proposing solar power projects in Batangas-Kabite, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Sanvales. It has been proposing to Meralco for 20 years to power at 6.08 pesos per kilowatt hour. The proposal plans to start supplying electricity for 600 MW by February 26, 2026, and the remaining 250 MW by February 26, 2015. The deadline for submitting the written intention regarding the counter-proposal bid is February 2. (24th, star)

The world's PV panel production is done in China. Japanese manufacturers were also producing, but the production is shrinking because it cannot compete with the panel price made in China.
