lazarus Lazarusはエルサレム近郊のベタニアBethanyに住むマルタMartha、マリアMary Magdalene姉妹の弟．病死4日後、キリストの奇跡により復活した（新約聖書ヨハネによる福音書第11章http://web1.kcn.jp/tombo/v2/JOHN11.html）．絶滅したと思われていた生物が、地質学的時間を置いて再出現する現象をLazarus phenomenonといい、そのような生物をLazarus taxonと言う． Example: Chama lazarus Linnaeus, 1758, ed. 10, 1: 691ヒレインコガイ.
