JAM CAFEというところです。
割と有名なカフェですがなかなか行く機会がなく、この前やっといけました！
とても雰囲気のよいカフェでした
私はバレンタインブレンドとチーズケーキを頼みました。
美味しかったです！

Fight Song by Rachel Platten: The Story Behind the Song for English Language Learners
先週ご紹介した発表会の曲♪Fight Song♪が作られた経緯を紹介している動画です。
こちらの動画を使って、今週は４年生クラスとStarクラスはレッスンしました。

When we hear `fast food,` the first things that come to mind are burgers, fried chicken, tacos, pizza, and French fries. It`s delicious, right? Like me, most of us are guilty of loving the food that we can buy in any fast food chain.
But as we grow up and the environment that we live in, it will change. Your love for fast food will change because you are now conscious of your appearance and most especially your health. As we all know eating fast food has many bad effects like having problems with the heart, high cholesterol, and obesity.
When I went to the US, fast food was everywhere. One can find a McDonald’s, a Chick-fil-A, a Taco Bell, a Wendy’s, a Dunkin’ or a Domino’s, and IN-N-OUT just to name a few of the most popular chains, in towns and cities across the United States and around the world.
As we toured the U.S. we couldn`t help to eat in a fast food chain because it`s convenient and literally fast and the serving was enormous. We ate at Jack in a Box, IN-N-OUT, Wingstop.com, and some local burritos and taco shops. As the days went by, I noticed that we always eat in a fast food chain and I was fed up. I was used to eating REAL food with rice, main dish, and soup. That’s why there was a day that I didn’t eat anything and if my family asked me what I wanted to eat I just directly told them I didn`t want fast food I`d rather have some rice with soup. That’s why we went to a Vietnamese restaurant to have Phoa and some Asian cuisine that serves real food.
Burgers, fried chicken, french fries, and pancakes are good to eat if it is not on a daily consumption. Food that is rich in vitamins is still the best with proper diet and exercise. But maybe I will eat burgers this weekend somewhere in Matsushima. It`s been a month since I ate burgers.

合格発表はちょっと先になるので、気を抜かずに2次の練習を初めて見るのも良いですね！

さて、2025年の1月も後少しで終了です。
そして2月と言えば節分ですが、今年の節分は2月2日だそうで…
あれ？節分て2月3日だったような？？？
そうです、通常は2月3日なのですが、太陽と地球の位置の都合でときどきずれるのだそうです。
2021年も2月2日でその時は124年ぶりの2日ということで、少し話題になったそうです。
全然覚えていないですが💦

この前金蛇水神社に行って来ました
今年は巳年なので縁起がよさそう…！
もう初詣の客も少なくなっただろうと思いいきましたが平日にもかかわらずたくさんの人で賑わっていました
お昼過ぎに行きましたが午前中はもっと混んでいたそうです。
本当はこのヘビパンを食べたかったのですが売り切れでした
でも参拝しておみくじも引けたので満足です。
普通のおみくじもありましたが私は水みくじをひいてみました。
水にぬらすと文字が浮かびあがります！
カフェもありますし、おみやげも充実していますのでぜひ行ってみてください🐍

Rachel Platten - Fight Song (Japanese Subtitles)
４年生も発表会の歌の練習が今週から始まりました。
今年の曲は、Rachel Plattenー♪Fight Song♪です。
自身の経験を歌にしたこの曲ですが、どうやってこの曲が作られたのか。
など来週レッスンでこの曲の誕生背景なども紹介しながら、更にこの曲に関心を持ってもらい、
ゆくゆくは皆さんの応援歌として残ってくれたらと思っています。
私も上手に歌えるように毎日聴いて練習します！

Winter season is one of my favorite seasons. Aside from its cold weather, I can do winter sports. Last Saturday after my work, I went to Spring Valley Izumi Kogen for night skiing. I was lucky at that time because they have a monthly one-time event that is the `ALL NIGHT` skiing until 5 AM. That was so cool! That`s why I decided to play long hours and stayed there until 3 AM. I was a little worried that it would freeze me because I played until morning, but it was not that cold because my body was active.
I don’t use typical winter sports like Skiing and Snowboard. I used my SnowFeet `SnowSkate` which I bought 4 years ago on Amazon. Using SnowSkate is easy if you know how to ice skate or rollerblade but the big difference is you need to control your speed because you are dealing with the powdered snow and slope. That`s why you need to be more cautious of your movement.
SnowSkates are cheap compared to buying or renting complete gear for snowboarding or skiing. All you need is a snow boots or snowboard boots and you are fine to play and slide all the way. But the lift is pricey but that’s ok. After all, I have my own gears. It was fun. I will go snowskating again before the winter ends.

こんにちは
今週末に英検がせまり、それが終わるといよいよ本格的に発表会の練習がはじまります！
発表会はそれぞれの学年がテーマに沿って英語でスピーチし、歌も披露します
私が担当するKinderクラスは今回惑星について英語で勉強し、
それぞれこんな惑星あったらいいなという自分だけの惑星を作ってもらいました！
名前、年齢、学校そして自分が作った惑星の名前とどんな惑星なのかを発表してもらいます
発表会の歌は『You are my sunshine』です。
一度は聞いたことのある有名な曲で様々なアーティストがカバーしていますが、
作者は実際のところ不明とされています。
ダンスも歌も練習してお父さん、お母さん、おじいちゃん、おばあちゃんお届けできるように発表会までがんばろ～

今日は、共通テストですね。
受験生の皆さん、最後まで頑張ってきて下さい。
日本の冬は、入試シーズンとも言っては過言ではありません。
インフルエンザや雪と戦いながら、受験に備えます。
何とも大変です・・・。
そして、スターリーでも来週はいよいよ英検が実施されます。
今週はどのレベルのクラスも通しで模試を行っています。
模試の目的は、タイムマネージメントと集中力をいかに維持するか。
特に英検の場合、リスニングが最後にくるので集中力を維持するのは大変です。
ぼ～っとしていたら、どんどん音声が流れていってしまいます。
特に試験慣れしていない、小学生の生徒さん達はこれに慣れるのが大変です。
さて、来週もう１度模試があります。今回の結果を鑑みて今週よりしっかり得点しましょう！
そして、本番でしっかり実力を発揮しましょう！
まだ時間はあります！
できることは何でもやって、最後は自分を信じてチカラを発揮して下さい！

It`s been a week since I left Los Angeles. Los Angeles left me a good memory that I will treasure for my whole life. Los Angeles offered the best experience and that`s a jackpot. But I was saddened when my cousin called me and saw the news on the internet that Los Angeles was on fire. It`s like a day after I left Los Angeles going back to Japan. Maybe I will say I`m lucky I was not there when the fire started. But I felt sorry for the victims of the wildfire, houses were burnt and the fire took lives.
( I took this photo because I was amazed by the view. My cousin told me that you can see the fire over that mountain. )
I remember that I always took the Pacific Coast Highway going to downtown LA because I didn’t want to use the expressway because the cars were really fast and drivers in America had road rage. That`s why I`m very cautious. Driving all the way using PCH was fun because you are literally beside the seashore and enjoy the view, pass Malibu, and Santa Monica and you can see Palisades all the way. I saw the news on the internet that Palisades was on fire and some part of California and I was shocked that the beautiful hill crest place was burnt into ashes.
( They sent me a video around their area and the smoke covered LA sky. )
I hope and pray that all the victims of the wildfire will be ok. I know they can get through this catastrophe.
