Even though I`m not from Germany, Oktoberfest is part of my life growing up. In the Philippines, we always celebrate Oktoberfest from September to the last day of October. When I was in a band before we were always invited to perform live in different parts of the Philippines. It was very tiring but fun.

The Sendai Oktoberfest is a fun, lively event for beer lovers, music enthusiasts, and festival goers! Numerous food and drink stalls line Nishikicho Park, featuring major German brands as well as Japanese craft brews on tap. In terms of cuisine, you'll find a mixture of German specialties, including Bratwurst sausages, sauerkraut, and pretzels, as well as local Japanese dishes, ranging from gyutan to edamame.

Every year, Sendai Oktoberfest features many stage performances by both Japanese and German bands, who take the stage sing English songs, and perform popular German drinking tunes several times throughout the day. These take place at the center tent, which is the most lively part of the festival grounds. The other tent around its main tent, is a calmer space more suitable for families, people with pets, or anyone looking to enjoy their drinks alongside pleasant conversations. It was a really fun experience.
