Donuts Donuts

Cookies are my all-time favorite snack. Donuts are considered my second favorite snack. Donuts are best to eat together with a hot cup of tea. I was not doing anything last off-day, so I decided to go to downtown Sendai to kill time and strolled around the city. When I was to go back home, I decided to buy food to eat for my dinner at home then I went down to the basement of Sendai station and there were a lot of food shops. I bought some grilled fish and grilled chicken `yakitori` for my dinner and I came across a small pop-up booth and I saw Krispy Kreme and I was surprised because the other day I was thinking of eating some donuts but my favorite donut was only from Krispy Kreme.

 

                                                 

 

Krispy Kreme is one of my favorite shops in terms of selling donuts. The taste and the texture of the donuts are glorious. I love eating their plain sugar-glazed donuts. I can eat 6pcs of donuts in just one sitting. Of course, I`m not young enough to sacrifice my health by eating too much sugar, so I bought only one box of 3 donuts.  As much as I love eating donuts, I`m not a fan of different flavors or donuts that have toppings and fillings inside. I`m planning to have another box next weekend

この前紅葉を見てきました！

混んでいるかな～と思い少し定番の場所を外して鳴子ダムに行ってみました！

お昼を食べて、午後から行ったのですが日曜日にもかかわらず人はほとんどいませんでした

 

 

まだ緑もありましたが綺麗でしたよ～

英検の講習会のお話

第２回の英検二次試験に向けて、スターリーキッズは練習が連日行われています。

普段のチカラを発揮するには、やはり練習は必須です。

自信をつけるには、練習あるのみ！

あと１週間また一緒に頑張っていきましょう。

 

ということで、２回目の結果はまだ先なのですが、

昨日からスターリーでは３回目の英検に向けての講習会のお知らせを配布しております。

来年１月２６日（日）の試験に向けて、１１月末より英検の対策をしていきます。

ぜひ、受験を考えている生徒さんは参加して下さい。

 

先ほどの面接の話もそうですが、実力があれば対策なんて必要ない。

と思うかもしれませんが、テストとは時間内にいかに正確に解答を導けるかが合否のカギ。

悠長に問題を解いている時間はありません・・・・。（残念ながら・・・）

そこで、どこに着目して問題を解くかといった技を対策で何度も繰り返し教えながら

過去問をたくさん解いて習得してもらいます。

そして、それぞれの生徒さんの得意な分野（リーディング・リスニング・ライティング）

のどこで点数を取り、苦手な分野をどうやって得意に変えるのか。といった個別のアドバイスもしております。

 

スターリーでは英検取得が第一の目標ではありませんが、

もう２０年前から準会場として教室を使って受験することを生徒さん方にお勧めしています。

それは、英検での結果が生徒さん達の英語に対するモチベーションに繋がること。

そしてまた、日ごろ培ったチカラをこのテストを通して実感してもらいたいという思いがあるからです。

 

今週からお便りを配布しておりますので、ぜひお子様とお話ししていただき、

講習会を受講していただければと思います。

Farewell Autumn Camp

The cozy embrace of the remaining days of autumn season saying goodbye.

                                                             

Mid-autumn is the best time to camp and relax. I tried camping during the spring and summer seasons. Summer camping is my least favorite because of the hot weather and insects. Autumn camping is the best season for camping because of the weather and the ambiance you will witness as the vibrant green leaves transform into a spectacular shade of red, orange, and yellow hues.  

                                          

I went camping at Kamiwarisaki Campground in Minami-Sanriku. Of all the solo camps I did, this camp is memorable because I am one with the four elements of nature. The campsite is an elevated plain (flat land) with towering trees and bouldering rocks, and the best part is that it is beside the ocean. The ocean breeze in the morning and afternoon makes the weather cooler, but as the sun sets down, the weather becomes cold.

                                                

Since it was a solo camp, putting up a tent was difficult because I was alone. It took me an hour to build my tarp and tent and make it sturdier. After I built my tent and put all the necessary things I needed for camping, I took a rest and made a hot coffee.

            

When the sun set, I started to make my dinner and the best part of my camping experience was the campsite had electricity. That’s why I brought my rice cooker . I also prepared a pork and chicken BBQ together with garlic butter corn seafood. I lit up my bonfire put some charcoals and started to grill.

                                                          

After eating my dinner, I opened a can of whisky and enjoyed the night with my bonfire. When I finished drinking and all the camper's tents turned their lights off, I headed over to the shower area to have a bath. Sleeping was cozy and comfortable because I brought my electric heater blanket.

                                   

It`s already 8 AM it`s time for me to start packing my things up because the checkout is 11 AM. After packing all my things, I made a hot coffee to start my day and wrap up my camping adventure. Before going back home, I roamed around the area and took some pictures of the ocean view because it was so beautiful.

      

Solo camping leaves you feeling rested and renewed, and might even help you destress and learn new ways of dealing with stress or anxiety in everyday life. Out in nature, there are no conventional worries; just beautiful scenery, the smell of fresh air, and the warmth of a campfire.

考えたらここ3週間くらいずっと咲いています。

この季節の変わり目に、リンとした佇まい。。。

新潟旅行

こんにちは

この前祖母の家がある新潟に行って来ました！

新潟はお米のイメージが強いと思いますが、私のお目当てはヤスダヨーグルトでした

 

工場があって、製造過程を見学できたり、

その周りにはカフェやお土産が買えるショップもあります。

 

飲むヨーグルトが一番有名ですが、

普通のヨーグルトやチーズもおいしくて、ランチもおいしかったです！

私はヨーグルトカレーを食べました

デザートに食べたソフトクリームも絶品でした

 

新潟に行かれる際は是非行ってみてください！

サンクスギヴィングデコレーション

Hello!

今週は火曜日～木曜日までレッスンがお休みなのでブログクイズはありません。

ですが、先生たちは教室にいますので、今日はハロウィンのデコレーションを外し、

サンクスギヴィングにチェンジしました

すぐにクリスマスがきてしまうので少しの間ですがサンクスギヴィングの雰囲気を楽しみましょう！

My Comfort Food

Every one of us has comfort food, whether it is a snack, dessert, or normal food served on our dining table. Most of our comfort food makes us happy when we eat our favorite food. We feel the satisfaction, and it takes away our tiredness from grinding at work every day.

                                              

When I`m tired, the first thing that comes to mind is cheat day or carbo-loading. I will just go to my favorite restaurant to eat shrimp fried rice cooked in a wok. I don’t know what's with the fried rice that I find it satisfying when I eat. Maybe, the Monosodium glutamate does its work to make the food tastier . Kidding aside, I think fried rice cooked in a wok has its distinctive taste because of the burnt surface of the wok that makes a fried rice delicous. Secondly, the spring rolls. Spring rolls are heaven. I can live the whole week eating spring rolls. I love spring rolls because you can make your own version of it. For me, vegetable spring rolls with minced meat are the best. Eating our comfort foods are satisfying.

Happy Halloween！

こんにちは！

今日は皆さんご存知、”Halloween”です！

Halloweenと言えば懐かしい想い出があります。

 

アメリカ留学して最初の2，3か月はホームスティをしていました。

そしてHalloweenの晩ですが、ホストのご家族がパーティ―に出かけてしまいました。

そこで私が留守番をすることに…

私が仰せつかったのは、訪ねてくる子ども達に"Tric or Treat!"と聞かれたら、"Treat!"と返事してキャンディを1つずつ渡すこと！

何回か練習させられて、「では、行ってくるわね！」みたいな感じでホストfamilyは出かけてしまいました…

 

玄関のドア横のバスケットにはキャンディが山のように入っていました。

「こんなに来るの？」と最初は疑心暗鬼でしたが、次から次へと本当に来る来る…　…

玄関に椅子を置いて待機していたのですが、座る間なんてほとんどありませんでした。

私は誕生日がHalloweenなのですが、誕生日にこんなことさせられてる…と少し寂しい思いをしました

 

後で聞いた話ですが、近所の子どもだけではなく、遠方から車に乗りつけて近くで降車して回っている子ども達が多たくさんいたそうです。

もしかしたら、ホストファミリーもパーティーではなく、遠方までキャンディを集めに行っていたのかもしれません💦

そう考えると合点がいきます

 

当初は本当に重労働させられてぇとムッとしていた私ですが、今思えば日本からの留学生の私にアメリカの文化を学ばせてあげようと言うホストペアレンツの親心だったのかもしれません。

今となっては良い思い出です。

日本ではなかなか経験できませんからね…

ハロウィンクラフト

こんにちは

先週はハロウィンレッスンの週でした🎃

Kinderクラスはクラフトでmummy（ミイラ）を自分の写真で作りました

人型の紫の画用紙に白いマスキングテープをぺたぺた貼っていき包帯をぐるぐる巻かれたようにします。

2枚の細長い紙を交互に折って重ねていき、紙バネもつくりcoffin（棺）から飛び出す仕組みにしました！

みんなそれも可愛くデザインしていましたよ

どうかな。。と不安だった保護者さまの反応もよく、一安心です

ハロウィン本番は明日ですね！
