Eyelid injury of Chinese young girl traveler.
She received a moist wound healing in our clinic.
A mother and father with their daughter from China were on a trip in Japan. Their 5 years old daughter had an injury when she bumps her forehead against a hard surface when playing.
She had a cut below the upper eyebrow right side of her face. They went to three hospitals for her treatment and examination. Although the first two hospitals felt they could not treat her properly because they did not specialize with the wound management.
The third place was the Red Cross Hospital which recommended they see a clinic that dealt with a skin & plastic surgery specialist. That was Nishiyama Clinic at Sakae. At Nishiyama clinic specializes with Plastic surgery and Cosmetic dermatology.
The parents were extremely worried about their daughter. Their daughter also enough of seeing doctors and was not excited about her new doctor. She started crying. After some reluctance from the girl she was able to have her examination.
Fortunately for the family they did not need surgery for their daughter and found out the wound was not deep. So it was not as serious as the parents may have been lead to believe.
She received a moist wound healing. A moist wound healing consists of special medical tape (hydrocolloid dressings) which is applied with medical ointment use for a long duration. This process lets the wound dry out slowly which results in healing faster, less scaring.
“She is very active little girl just like a boy” the parents said. To ensure any uneasiness they were informed on the care procedure for long duration and supplied with necessary medical items. Of course, if they come to any troubles they are welcome to come back.
