Maya Angelow born on April 4, 1928. is Afro-American woman who wrote the story " I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings".  The poem "Still I Rise" has been a source of my life to keep going.  This is the page from my newsletter in Sept. 1997.

Since this lady was born long before civilrights for black Americans were established and secured, she would have gone through very many unbearable experience.But still she trys to sing in bird cage?
