One of my best seafood izakaya restaurant is the Isomaru Suisan. Isomaru Suisan has some of the best seafood to offer even if you are living in the busiest city of Japan. They are open 24 hours (I think most of the restaurant) and it`s a great option for dinner and evening meal option.
I visited the Isomaru Suisan in Sendai Ichibancho for a dinner last weekend. It is hard to miss the detailed signboard and live seafood display at the entrance of the shop.
Each table comes with a grill and after ordering, we can start to grill the seafood ourselves. I highly recommend Shellfish and prawns. Squids, clams, other fish are really fresh and yummy too. Most of the customer drink an ice-cold Sapporo beer! But I don`t drink beer. If you are lazy to grill your own food, you can also order cooked food too, like some deep-fried small fish, chicken karaage, and others.
Isomaru Suisan is a good option especially for tourists who want to experience a Japanese Izakaya style dining. This restaurant is foreign friendly with different languages menu and ordering of food is simple even if you do not speak Japanese. By the way, there is not a lot of ventilation in the shop and you will likely leave with lots of smoke smell. I recommend to remove your jacket (if any) and put them into a bag before entering.
Experiencing this kind of seafood izakaya is a must-try, it`s a bit expensive but you can try it once in a while.
