Me and friend went to a not-far but famous temple in Sendai called Jogi Nyorai. From Sendai station, it took us about 40 minutes to reach the temple by car.
Jogi Nyorai Saihoji Temple is a Buddhist temple in Sendai, Japan. Since it was a quick trip because my friend has to work. I just took some photos, lit an incense, prayed, and rang the big bell.
One thing I learned is Jogi Nyorai is believed to bring good luck to those who pray regularly for their family’s happiness such as for weddings, easy childbirth, good health, or professional success. Many people, attracted by the Buddha’s miraculous virtues, continue to visit the temple to pray. That`s interesting, right? That is what I like about Japanese culture, traditions, and beliefs you can see the richness and the meaning of each culture and story.
Before leaving the place, we ate some fried tofu and they said that is famous in the place. It`s just a normal fried tofu which is crispy outside and tender inside. The taste of the tofu is as usual but I think the soy sauce and the spices make the fried tofu unique and delicious.
